I can't thank everyone enough who came to the recent Meet in Raleigh.

And then I got to thinking-I've had a great time in attending other Meets as well.

Given that we have Lousiana, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and North Carolina Meets, I am thinking about a true Southeastern Regional Meet.

So to get it planned, the first question is, how far would you be willing to travel?

That answer would help us narrow down a location...

I'd do a 3-6 hour drive to a meet....

hey Mike, it was blast meeting you at the Raleigh Meet. the drive wasnt that bad, i made it in a little over 3 hrs from Sumter, SC so it wasnt that bad of a drive. so i'll say arnd 3-6 hrs drive is fine by me. of course closer would be even better. lol...

Going to take me 6 hours to get out of the state.

That's the challenge-how to accommodate folks like you who already would need to drive quite a bit.

The other challenge will be how to schedule around OT's...

Are you sure you were driving and not low-level flying?

Trying to put that 280 rwhp to the test eh?

IF you were to drive 6 hours to Florida, where would you end up?

What about a 6 hour drive to Georgia, where would you end up?

3-6 for me as well...however, looks like I'll be traveling about 982 miles to OT this year.

That'll be via Southwest airlines, though...no way the wife and kids could make that drive! LOL

I'd do a 3-6 hour drive to a meet....We've only managed to drag you to two of them so far and both of those were about 30 minutes away. I'd definitely make a long drive.

I hope to make the OT this year. I asked the wife just yesterday about taking a mini vacation and as long as I don't get deployed, I hope to make it happen. I better get busy and start saving my POP cans, isn't that right Kronos. LOL

Well, I flew to the first ever meet we had in Ga., but don't know how far it was. I driove over 600 miles to the Tenn. meet, and will be making the second 360 mile trip to Jersey meet in a couple weeks.

History in the making ... FireCracker will be the first ever Mod to attend an Old Town Meet. lol

I drove from Jersey to the NC meet in Sept 05, that was a LONG trip, and I flew to the Tenn Meet, so I would probably fly to the next south east, or I would take a week off, and make a vacation out of it.
But I am always up for a Big Meet, If we do a HUGE one, I would be more than willing to help out with the planning, and see what I can can make happen.
I still gotta get down to the OT Meets, I hear they are a blast!!!!!!!!!!

so you are coming to the gatlingurg meet!!! Yes I knew it!

Drove to OT and that was about a 9 hour trip I think (since we followed Shailey....lol lol)..

For a big meet I wouldn't mind driving 8-10 hours. I actually think the Gatlinburg is prob the mid point for most people (florida to NJ)

When I worked at Michigan DOT, we collected cans on the side of the road. Made about $120 between four guys so IF you do collect cans for deposit and you save early, there's your gas money!

If you ask for a soda up in the Midwest, you'll get soda water...

If you ask for a Coke, you'll get Coke...

Ask for a Pop, you'll get asked what flavor?

I would be willing to drive 8+hours for a meet. I just wish I knew what was going to happen with my step kid so I could start planning something.

Funny around here people will say they will drink a coke, and then tell you what kind. If you ask about a soda they look at you funny and tell you that you are a yankee! lol

Heck...I love driving. I drove 7 hours to the meet in Omaha...then back the same day. Although...if I did an 8+ hour trip, I'd like to stay at the meet for at least that long too...

I've gone to NJ and DE for various meets and the longest it took for me to get to DE was 4.5 hours. So how much further could I go in 1.5 hours????

I say 3-6 even though I turn them into 2-3...lol. I have to drive to Houston or Dallas since there are hardly any fanatics here in Killeen who are not deployed (Shiftyb). The only other one I know is TGmotoman.
