after hearing nothing but raves about jason burtman industries, etc, im starting to think i got taken. I paid for the old style volant gen 1 tail lights about 2 months ago but i've received nothing so far. when i asked about a refund i was told the money is tied up with the vendor. 1) am i about to get ripped of and 2) has this happened to anyone else 3) what can i do to get my money back if i cant get my product?

I have only purchased from Jason once, and had problems getting the right part. But he was stand up about it all, and it did get resolved.

I will be doing businsess with him in the future...

The problem might be trying to find a set of Volant style LEDs tail ligth. They stop making those.

I purchased a set of smoke tail lights from him and was not happy with something.
He has gone out of his way to make me happy.
I would recomend him to anyone.
I would try and PM him and I bet he takes care of you.

I order a pair from him too. He said he was out and he should be getting them in within 30 days. Patience. He is about the only one that can get them.

found a few sets of the gen 1 VOlants on ebay a while back. I snagged them when I could and wound up saving almost a full C-note...

He's a good vendor, but always shop around. It's just good sense to do so.

I ordered my CAI awhile ago and did not receive my custom lid. I called him up and it was overnighted and received the next day. I would have been fine if I received it via snail mail but they dished it up and I swear it was still warm LOL. Nothing but good stuff to say about these guys. If they are waiting on a vendor then I am sure that is the case. Burtman Industries is awesome in my book! They will be getting more of my cash the second I can part with it:D :D :D

blindingsun, and the few others I've already talked to that ordered this item... This item is no longer being made or imported to the USA. I've found a way to get these made just for me, but it's taking longer than I was told from the factory. I have informed everyone about this that has ordered these. Now, if you are a 1st time purchaser from Burtman Industries, I understand that this waiting may scare a new customer. I can assure you and anyone else that noone slips through the cracks or gets ignorned. You can rest assured that my repuation is #1 to me, and I do everything I can to keep it that way.

Of course, if you don't want to wait anymore, a full refund is not a problem. As I've told the few that have ordered this item, this pending shipment will probably be the last of these tails in existence. The hard part is waiting, which I hope they will arrive sooner than later.

He has a seriousely good reputation, that is why so many chime in. Some time ago, I considered buying some body vents and he took time to send drawings/specs to me. The big sellers where I had already bought so many things, would never have done that.

To resolve your conflict, you need to make a phone call. Since email and PM didn't resolve it for you, do something different.

He is very good to talk with (he's a quick speaker, no Southern slow talk there), sells tons of stuff for lots of applications and is very hands on in his business. Maybe he needs to delegate more? Kindly remind him who you are (real name and your screenname on CT), tell him you are not willing to wait any longer and need a refund issued immediately. Be polite, but firm, I'm sure it will not be a problem. Ask when will you see the refund reflected on your credit card and tell him you'll be checking it to confirm. The evidence is overwhelming that he tries to do the right thing and goes out of his way to correct errors.

It is very rare that I would pay up front to any supplier for an item that is not in stock. When you show me the goods, I'll show you the money. It is the consumer who is to be served, not the supplier. Just a thought for your future dealings.

There is something here that we are not understanding. Conflicts happen, but we still trust Burtman. You are trying to buy a custom made item. It is no longer an off the shelf item, something we did not know earlier. I am waiting on 3 custom items from other sources, all true custom made, for many many months. They will arrive, but the design & manufacturing process has to be executed.

I still believe "Discretion is the better part of valor", even if it is difficult. Only you and Jason can bring this to a conclusion. Just call and talk with him.

PS, I just got a set of used (near Mint) Volant Version 1 from a fellow member here. They arrived yesterday in the OEM Volant box! I'm putting them on in a few minutes. They look great, and match or exceed OEM Quality throughout. Nothing flimsy at all, that was my fear of aftermarket lights having seen some other brands I wasn't impressed with. Volant rocks! Thanks Knox_Titan. :)

I hope Burtman can keep the supply chain open on this type and quality of item.

i dont even want the lights anymore, after going thru what i've gone thru i just want my cash back. i paid for them in advance cos they dont ship stuff C.O.D. but im so irked at the lack of a response that i dont want anything from these people again ever. u shouldnt have to wear gasoline undies and run thru a fire to get your own money back. its just not right.

Jason will take care of everything! I had an issue with something I got from him and he is taking care of it.

He may be talking with the company and trying to get you a firm answer on a ship date. Try giving him a call if the email and pm isn't working.

Ti*tan and a buddy came over today so I could help him install Fog Lights and he showed me the extra LEDs on the side that I hadn't noticed, and the extra detail of the shape to the sides too. I didn't really have a detailed idea of what these lights were like, just a rough idea. They are SWEET! Glad Jason sold them to you! :)

This is the Internet age, many sellers act as an agent and create the sell, then ship direct from a distributor or the mfg. Major corporations do business like this; nothing disreputable about this, it is the common practice today. And I'm not saying Burtmans operates in this fashion. He may or may not, I don't know! If you want a store front, you need to go to the local speed shop. Prices will not be comparable usually. I've seen a piece of junk Back up camera at WalMart for 95, and seen it at a Speed Shop for 250 the same week.

I do understand your frustration, if you want a refund, you should receive it immediately. Only you know what agreement or level of commitment you made between yourself and Jason in order to purchase an item that was not in stock and is likely produced overseas. Let us know how this turns out. But, we do seem to like Burtmans, and any sponsor on this site must maintain a high reputation with site members. He always has.

It is a waste of time for me to post any more on this subject. Hope to hear some good news of resolution between you and Burtmans, hopefully within a couple days. I wish you both well. :)

Seems there are several people who are wanting these items that are very hard to get and somehow Jason knows how to get them. Sounds like they are very very hard to get and may take some time. You need to handle this with him though. Instead of posting in a forum and dragging his good name in the mud or even PM and emails, Just Call him. These things are much easier to take care of over the phone. Jason is well respected around here and other sites. They do great business. What does it matter how big they are. Please call him and take care of this professionally without name calling and threats on a forum.

If anyone has a problem with any vendor the problem should be worked out without resorting to threats and name calling here. That is not allowed on CT, no matter who is at fault.
Reporting a problem with a seller is OK, but the rules of CT must be followed.

Instead of crying here about it, have you tryed contacting Jason through the phone? Bet not.
If he says they take 30 days well wait 30 days.... If you dont want to wait, give him a call, they are bussy people to be on the net all day, easier to call by phone. They always answer, Ive called Jason many times after 8:00pm and they still answer the phone and help you out.
I suggest you call him dirrectly and dont post bad about someone without getting all of your facts straight....

Off course you're allow to post your problems here. The fact that your posts is still here and not deleted say it all. This goes both way, yes a supporting vendor help keep the site going but if the vendor does bad business it give the site a bad name. I say give him a call on Monday to see what happen, did you pay by credit card? You can always get your CC company to help. Good luck and hope everything work out on all side.

I can fully understand his frustration, another sponsor here was the worst experience I have ever had to deal with but I knew not to say anything about him. I assure you if he was not a sponsor, this would not have happened! I would be afraid to complain about any poor service here, they might become a sponsor in the future!

No he was not banned for complaining. You may not have gotten to read his posts we had to delete because of name calling and threatening. These are things we don't allow against anyone on the forum. The ban had nothing to do with him complaining about a sponsor. Please make sure not to misunderstand the reason for the TEMPORARY ban. He broke site rules thats why there was a ban. You can complain all you want just keep it nice while you do it. Please don't judge us for something when you don't have all the facts.

The guy needed to relax. Personally, I vouch for Jason. My order came in quickly and I think his customer service is an A+.

Listen to what he said, the lights are hard to come by and are probably some of the last ones to be ever made.

Also no one deserved a "so up yours chuck norris. mod me block me"

I still don't think you understand. You say you understand then you ask if he was complaining about an ebay seller would this happen. The fact is he was not temporarily banned for complaining period. He was temp banned for name calling which we warned and deleted then threatening on the forum. These are what was not allowed. He can complain all he wants. He can complain about me all he wants just has to do it within the rules.

And you are corect.....they have to protect the sponsors in a sense....they are the ones that pay alot of the bills around here on the free forum.

I can understand the guys complaint.....but is he affraid of a telephone? Best way to handle business is in person.....

P.S.....I got my S&B from Jason......and as soon as I sent him an e-mail I got a phone call from him asking me all about the problem.

The problem was dealt with......I think he's a good guy and that wants to do us the best he can.

Just leave it alone man...trust me.....

If it was a non site sponsor...and name calling was involved.....then I think the same thing would have happened.

Sure seems to be an awful lot of people that want to question the site rules lately, and feel they have the right to tell us what they will and won't do. It don't work that way here. If the rules we have established are not what you want to follow, by all means, you are welcome to frequent a different site!

He reached out and called me almost within 24 hours of my order to let me know that they were very hard to get...he gave me the option of switching to another style, get my money back, or wait for them. I chose option 3. I've IM him a few times to get updates and he was nothing but professional about it.

It is a very hard item to get and they are coming overseas. If I was you. IM him or simply call. They're are well worth the wait.

Good Reply AG and BBF. It's good if somebody hasaa problem and wants advice on how to resolve it. It's good for someone intelligent to offer sound advice to bring about resolution. The rest of this thread reminds me of children who are just plain crabby and want to pick a fight or egg it on. I am thankful for what the Mods/Admin do here, the std's they have reestablished and the way they intervened here. Good to see real men still exist. :)

OK, everyone, I need to make this comment. I just got back home, working all weekend and driving 225 miles back home. I am very tired, and not going to spend much time on this.
If you noticed, I am the one that did the initial editing on the posts in this thread. I had very limited internet access and time to be here this weekend. I received four messages from members, complaining about the posts made by blindingsun. I edited out the name calling and threats he made, and sent him a PM about his posts on the problem he is having, but that the rules of CT must be followed. I suggested that he contact Bateman directly to work out the problem.

Blindingsun chose to not reply to me, instead he continued his posts in violation of the rules

He got a one week ban for violating the rules, not because he posted a complaint. A couple of you seem to have a real hard time understanding that.

First, let me say that I didn't get any email notifications after the last time I posted in this thread. I was gone for the weekend and came back to 15 new posts in here :)

What I posted above earlier in this thread is 100% true. Everyone that ordered these tails were given 3 options if they didn't want to wait. Sometimes I don't get PM's from this website, or email notifications. The BEST WAY to get ahold of me is to directly email from the website, or just call the phone # on the website. In 7 years of business, I've never left anyone behind and don't ignore people. I've posted before about not receiving PM's or email notification on this site in the past. There really is no issue here, the refund has been done. I was gone for the weekend, and all this recents posts I just saw today. Again, anyone that has ordered these was given the choices below, just like this customer. Maybe blinding son didn't get my response when I gave the same options.

Jason just shipped me mine. All I can say is WOW! These babies are NICE. Well WELL worth the wait. I had the Gen II led and compare to these they look like something from the dollar store.

Jason just shipped me mine. All I can say is WOW! These babies are NICE. Well WELL worth the wait. I had the Gen II led and compare to these they look like something from the dollar store.

Nuthin but mad props for Jason! Purchased the Gibson SS dual-rear exhaust from him. Great service and quick shipment! And price was a lot lower than anywhere else.
