That looks sharp! Did you polish your truck before those pictures? It looks mad clean!

It actually rained a little during the install. The truck was pretty clean, though. Just some waterspots. She does look purty, Don't she?

Just placed an order for my Advancve cover, I have read and re-read this thread a few time so it should be no problem with the install once it comes in. :fan2:

Hope you like it as much as I do. Just make sure if you have to open it on a hot sunny day, you don't burn your hand... It gets hot :flamer:

Thanks to this post I had no problems at all, took about 1 and half hours. The most time consuming I think is to adjust everything just right before tighten up. Thanks rexracer and clubtitan.org for this post. I think the black look good with the black bed trim.

Awesome! I'm ordering ours on Tuesday, I can't wait to be able to have the cover on the bed.

Great post, I used it when installing my cover. I had one problem - It was 158 degrees :flamer: in my Phoenix garage and I couldn't get the masking tape to stick to the plastic bed top as a guide for the D weather strip. My solution was to cut some scrap hardboard to 2 1/8 in wide and clamp it even with the inside edge of the bed. The 2 1/8 size plus the 1 in width of the D-shaped weather stip puts the outer edge in the same spot as the 3 1/8 tape distance would. Then I just used the hardboard as a straight edge guide for the weather strip.

Been digging through all the tonnaeu covers and photos. I'm really interested in this one, but the ONLY thing I can't tell from the photos or posts is can you open/close the tailgate without opening the tonnaeu? If so, can you get the tonnaeu without the latch that sticks out the back like the photos on the website. This post seems to have the best photos from behind, and I can't see the latch.

Thanks...

Oh, and I just picked up my '06 CC LE yesterday. :D

Yes

If it's the same Advance Cover, I don't think that you can. It has a latch in the front and in the back w/ locks so that you can open it for easy access from front to back. Hope this helps

Hey I wanted to let anybody know if you get one bracket that seems to big, and will not let the cover latch, advance will send you a new bracket right away if you ask them to, great customer service. I know some have filed it down, but I was not comfortable with my metal working skills so I ask for there help, and they came through with flying colors.

I just installed my Advance cover--went on GREAT (thanks for the help!!). For those of you reviewing this before your installation, there is something left out of the "how to"--the application of the mylar tape where the latch mechanisms meet. This seems like a little thing, but makes a remarkable difference in the functionality of the closing mechanism and smoothness with which it operates. If yours didn't come with it, get some. It helps a bunch!!

After doing some research and seeing this how-to-post I decided to order this puppy on line and will install it myself. I will give it a go even though I'm not the most mechanically inclined person out there and will let you all know how it goes. Thanks for the inspiration...

I ordered the advance cover for $524 shipped. It took a week to get to me and with the help of my lovely wife we put it all together in about 2 hours. With the help of this thread and with the straight forward instructions we got through it okay and I am pleased with the results. This is one great looking cover and its functional as well. Thanks for the tips and now I must prepare for my next mods. A dunder dan spider web grill and a leveling kit from Burtman Ind.
