I was wondering if I could get a Rear Diff. locker installed in my truck, I was going to call the dealer today and see what they say. I do a lot of off-roading and had really wanted the offroad package but couldn't pass up the deal on the truck I got. Went camping this weekend and got my truck stuck trying to pull out my buddy.......the diff locker would have came in handy then.......hate to say it but a Tacoma pulled us both out.

yup, been lookin' everywhere for lockers. No luck:(
i haven't got my truck stuck yet, but i know that if i did, a locker would come in handy. like yourself, i wanted an off-road model, but just couldn't wait, and once a 4x4 model was available i jumped at the chance. I hope Detroit or Auburn will develop an aftermarket locker soon. Keep me posted on what the dealer has to say about getting a locker installed, if they can even do it, and how much they're gonna be chargin'??? any ideas where to find bigger axles for the front and back diffs. any suggestions on the set-up, Dana 44's or 60's, is anything available for the Titan yet??? A little help here...please????

since the rear end is a dana 44, won't we be able to install, let's say an ARB or lock right locker? i mean, they have crap load of after market products for dana 44

as far as I can tell, the axle is identical to a regular old Dana 44 and I beleive that any of your aftermarket lockers should work. I haven't done all the research and don't feel the need to lock my Titan, it does see off road use, but I have another vehicle that is only used off road, so the Titan is mainly just a tow/recovery/mild off roader.

I bet a call to dana/spicer or some of the aftermarket locker suppliers might clear up your compatibility questions.

The rear is not a 44 but only "based on the Dana 44".

"The number of teeth was increased on the rear and the front axles' ring gear and pinion sets in an attempt to make the gear operation smoother".

here is an article about a truck that used a tracloc locker in the rear.

It reads like they put new axle shafts in, but didn't change anything else.
