R Stempler Nissan in Edgewood & Aberdeen, Maryland vanished. I went to Florida on 8/28 and got a call on 8/31 that the buildings were empty and everything was gone. Bought seven from this dealer since 2002, not to mentioned countless $$$ in service and parts. Service crew was great but they have vanished overnight without a word.
Maybe some kind of alien abduction!!!!

They will be back within 45 days just under new managment, atleast that is what a budy of mine who works there told me. I said the same thing when i went there as they were loading the cars onto the trucks.

I also noticed that they closed up. I also saw 2 truckloads of cars (not Nissans) sitting next to the lot. I wonder if it will still be a Nissan dealer when they reopen?

as far as what my budy says is that they are going to open up still as a nissan dealer just won't be r stempler any morea?
just a quick recap i stopped by there and talked to another friend of mine who works in the billing dept. She says that the owner screwed up the money end so nissan came and collected all of there cars and closed them down. They will be opening back up in the middle of october guarenteed same service dept. and everything just new name and new management. She said that they are thinking about calling it edgewood nissan which i said was going to be a bad idea but who cares as long as they come back.

Just curious, having dealt with numerous dealerships, some of which closed, and nothing ever took their place...
Did the dealership reopen in mid October?

It still hasn't opened up. As a matter of fact, yesterday, the wife received a letter from Nissan stating that R Stempler is no longer a Nissan dealer, and gave a list of other dealers in the area. There was no mention of a new dealer at that location, however.

dss90c, We had a service mgr. and dept. of another brand we really liked and lost them. Manufacturers can be really demanding financially. They wanted a new service building, showroom, etc. This was a small volume dealer who couldn't meet the demands.
Anyway. Thanks for the response. After all the heresay, it appears you have the word.

Don't mess with the ex! The disappearance was reported as the result of a divorce.
