: Rear suspension dropped today

First of all this is my first post although I have been browsing through the forums since March when I bought my Titan. I have a SE 4x2 CC with big tow and recently ordered the PRG leveling kit. I like the stance of the leveled Titan. I have not installed the leveling kit yet, but today when I got home it appears as if the rear suspension dropped or settled about 1.5". I have barely over 4k miles and would like to know if this is normal? I am not sure if it is just me or the truck, so I plan on taking it on a level surface and checking it again. Looks like most of the rake is out of the truck. Problem is that I am afraid that once I do install the PRG leveling kit, that the front end will be higher than the rear. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful.

Just on another note...I know that many people have been discussing adding subwoofers to their Titans. I heard from someone else that has a Titan that the twin downfire box made for 88-98 GMC extended cabs work well. So I went to one of the local stereo shops and had them test it in my Titan. Good news that it DOES fit perfect. Once I get the cable to my digital camera I will upload some pics. I bought the twin 12" downfire box for $119 (which I didn't think was too bad).

Thanks again for any help.

Welcome to the Club, Fellow Texan!

Mine has settled also, but I've also added the "$22 Helper Springs" which will drop it about 1/2".
I also have been considering the PRG, but I don't think I'll go 2.5", maybe the 1.2" instead.
My reason is to add more suspension travel, so I don't "bottom-out" with every pot-hole.

If you're going for the 2.5", I'd suggest getting the rear blocks also, just to maintain some rake.
Good luck.

(Hope to see you at the Titan Meet in Guadalupe this July!)

Tattoomee, the 1.2" spacers are the 2" lift kit from PRG. The 2.5" kit is 1.5" spacers. If you want smaller than a 2" lift, contact PRG for a custom kit. I know Titan4x4Aggie has a kit that gave him 1.75" of lift.

Welcome the the Club!

PRG has your answer. He is taking preorders for a new leaf pack that will improve ride quality and give 1.5" rear lift. I have the same sagging thing with my Titan. I have a 2.5" front PRG kit and 1.5" rear PRG blocks and my truck looks level. I am getting the new leaf packs to improve my ride and to give new life to my leaf springs to kill the sag. The new leaf packs should help eliminate the axle wrap as well!

I emailed Greg Monday (w/purchase of mini lift kit), requesting a 1.5" front and a !" rear, for a little extra Clearance. He said he had no problem making a custom set for me at no addl. charge, and mail it Wednesday. Hopefully I'll get it the beginning of next week.

I've been "comtemplating" it for a while.

A week ago, walking back to my truck from the store, a Dodge Sheep was parked next to mine, and the "Nose-Grind" of my Titan was VERY Obvious. I Can't Wait.
P.S. You are my "inspiration", ever since seeing your 4x2 O/R, I knew I wanted one, just not so HIGH!!

Well my PRG leveling kit with the 1" rear blocks arrived but I cannot put it on for a few weeks now. The service manager called and said that Nissan is sending a whole new factory painted and sprayed with bedliner to replace my current bedliner that have bubbles in it. They told me that it will be about three weeks for the new bed to come in. I dont think I should add the leveling kit before they do the service work or they might try to blame something on the leveling kit. Do you all think I should wait too?

Thanks everyone.

ShinerbokTitanI installed my PRG kits between warranty visits to my dealer. I even had them do the alignment since I was going back to them for a new console. My service writer said "did you lift this" and I said "a little!" and that was the end of that conversation. OK, well I did tell him it is a PRG lift, but he had never heard of TitanTalk or PRG kits.

If I add the rear blocks, do you think the service people will say anything while switching out the bed? I am just worrying because I told them about me adding a line out convertor to add the subs and now they are holding it against me. Now that my stereo is messing up, they say it is the fault of the LOC and not the stereo. Just dont want that to happen with anything else if I can avoid it.

ShinerbokTitanWhen it comes to the warranty questions, you have to look at the mod you did and what it affects. They have to be able to prove what you did caused the warranty problem. If you messed with the stereo and are now having problems with it, then they can say you broke it. If you install rear blocks and have problems with your stereo, bed liner or brakes, then no, they cannot say your blocks caused any of those problems and weasel out of doing the warranty repair.
