: Why I love my Titan.
I have owned 4 new trucks in the last 10 years. I have owned Ford Ranger, F-150's , and Dodge Ram. Out of my previous trucks the only one I ever had with no problems at all was my Ranger back in 94. Only thing was it was a 4 banger. Talk about week. Loved the ride, had lots of room for a small truck. I had the extended cab XLT version. I had a big system in it you could hear a mile away. I grew out of that and traided up to 96 F-150 regular cab with In line 6 cylinder straight drive. Now this was a fun truck. Nice step up in power. In fact it had as much or more power than several V-8's I had driven. Traded that for 98 F-150 reg cab. Was alright truck but had a few issues while under warranty. Next I traided in for a 01 Dodge Ram Quad Cab. What can I say about this truck other than POS. I had soo many issues with this truck. When you buy a brand new vehicle you expect to not have problems. Well I did and the service I got from Dodge sucked. I practically had to threaten to drive my truck through the show room window to get it repaired. Only 1 month into owning this truck I started having engine trouble. I would be driving and all the sudden lose power and truck would lurch forward and backward. After 3 visits to dealership and several outbursts by me they agree there is a problem and keep it for 2 weeks. Took me talking to the manager to get a rental car to get back and forth to work. After getting back and driving for about 1 1/2 yrs I noticed a loss of power going up hills. I thought I was having same problem as before. Not this time though. This time my trasmission is slipping. Well I started looking. Drove an 04 Chevy (nice truck more than I wanted to spend), an 04 F-150, and a 04 Tundra. Out of these I had decided to get the Tundra. Even though it was smaller than I liked in the cab. The truck drove really well. Comfortable ride enough power(not a great deal but enough). My brother tells me hey check out a Titan. I say "check out what?". Hadn't even heard of a Titan. My brother is one of those guys that reads all the car and truck magazines and looks up specs on the internet. Well he tells me its a Nissan. I say nah thats ok. The only nissan truck I knew of was the Frontier. While I like the way the frontier looks it was smaller than what I wanted. So he talks me into going to look at the Titan. To be honest I really didn't like the way it looked on my first visit. I thought it was great size though. So I go back when they are open on Monday and test drive it. When I got in it I fell in love. I am 6' 5" tall and 315lbs. Needless to say I need space. This truck has it in abbundance. I don't like all the electric windows and power locks and seats. I always felt it was one more thing that could go bad. I found 1 King Cab XE on the lot exactly like I wanted without the Chrome front on it. The wife and I take for a drive. She loves it right away. Much smoother a ride than any of my previous trucks. She loved the seats and the room inside. I loved the room and the bed length. I wound up getting this truck for less than 22,000. I wasn't able to find a truck anywhere near this from the other big 3. I have had my Titan for over a month now and not a single issue has come up. I have had the windows tinted, Flowmaster Dual in and out exhaust installed, added splash guards from www.titanparts247.com. They fit great and keep my chrome exhaust tips from getting crap on them from the tires. This truck has soo much power you wouldn't believe. I know I was really suprised. Now when I pull into a parking lot I get soo many people complimenting me on it. The want to know all about it and look inside. People are going to notice this truck so get used to questions and show and tell. As I drive this truck I will keep you updated as to how it does.

BiXLL 08-07-2004, 05:18 PM I have always been a Nissan fan. I had 3 "hardbodys" with the lowest mileage one when I got rid of it at 147,000 miles. I never did any major work to any of them, not even a clutch. Basically kept the oil changed, and drove them. Bought wife a 2000 Pathfinder, and the same has held true, not a single problem in 4 years. I had a 96 Dodge SLT Ext that had the "Primetime" conversion on it. It had a 3 tone fade paint job, custom 2 tone leather interior, all the ground affects, Lund Visor and cab wing. It was my baby, always stored in winter, never seen snow, underside was as clean as the outer. This was my toy, and summer vehicle. Well as I get older, I seem to be accumulating more and more toys! To the point that I am out of room with 2 double stall garages. I decided that after my wife pushing me for 2 years to by myself a new vehicle (have bought her 3, none for me in my life) that when I saw the literature on the Titan, before they were even making them, that this could be a possibility! I still drug my feet, and it wasn't until I was thinking of replacing the wheels and tires on the Dodge that she got me to go look at one. I liked what I was looking at, and knew all the specs before I saw it. I wasn't even 500 yards down the road on my test drive when I knew it was time to get rid of the Dodge and my winter vehicle. I absolutely LOVE this truck, more then any vehicle I have ever owned, and I have had more then 1 or 2 .....trust me! (nickname in high school yearbook was "motor head")
NDJollyMon 08-13-2004, 07:37 PM I've only had it for a couple weeks, but it sure is fun to drive! Mine had a couple of items to be fixed, but they were from people looking at it.
I really like the fact that it's different than all the other full size trucks. I love the fact that NISSAN figured out that people other than farmers and off roader's need a truck. After I saw the innovative Utili-trac system...I was hooked. They came up with some really great ideas. That's what sold me.
BiXLL 08-13-2004, 08:14 PM Man NDJollyMon. Is there any option that you left off that thing???? Awsome sounding truck! Welcome to the site bud, hope to see you posting often.
NDJollyMon 08-13-2004, 11:34 PM Yep...no Nav package! I have more accessories, but not enough sig space! :D
Thanks!

Type it out horizontal instead of verticle! (try it anyway) :?: _
ttammunek04 08-15-2004, 08:31 PM I can sum up the reason I love my Titan in one short phrase.
" 305 Horsepower and 379 Ft. Lbs. Torque"
I was a former Ford F-150 owner, and am very glad that I made the transition. My wife has an Xterra and we have been very pleased with its performance and Nissan has a great record when it comes to reliablilty and originality. I couldn't be any happier with my Titan. Hands down, its the best truck on the market today in my books.
ttammunek04
I couldn't agree with you more. You summed it up and did it in a lot less space than I did. LOL.
Welcome to the forums.

jakohler 08-20-2004, 07:23 PM I just bought my Titan this past Tuesday, August 17, so I haven't had a lot of time with it yet (hey I have to work sometime so I can make the payments!) I traded up from a 2001 Frontier CrewCab to the Titan CrewCab. This is the truck that I have been dreaming about since I was a wee lass. My first truck was a 1994 Ranger that I got in 1999, great truck but needed more room so I upgraded to the Frontier last year. If I had only known then that the Titan was coming out, I would have waited! Husband bought a Scion tC (not the boxy one, the car) last week so everyone thought we were nuts when we went and bought the Titan this week. What's funny is that everyone thinks the Scion is mine and the Titan is his! No complaints on the truck, handles great and fits in most parking places. Plan on driving this for a long time!

BiXLL 08-30-2004, 09:13 PM WOW!!!! A female forum member, how cool is that? Welcome to the site jakohler. Hope you continue to enjoy your Titan, and keep us all up on the womans point of view!
k9mrussell 09-01-2004, 11:03 AM I love my Titan because it will go anywhere I want it to and it looks good doing it. It is comfortable and sturdy. This is my 2nd Nissan truck and the 4th Nissan between me and my wife. (she just traded her 97 Altima for a 04 Murano) I also love my truck because of it's name. You probably won't hear anyone else say that, but I am a K9 Officer for a statewide emergency responce unit and my K9's name is.... you guessed it, TITAN. How cool is that? All my fellow officers laugh at me. They say the only reason I got the truck is because of my dog!! LOL Anyway, this truck is EVERYTHING I have always wanted in a truck and it's about time someone built it. I'm glad it was Nissan because the truck I have always wanted will run forever!!!!!!! :D

So are you the one on your site the dog is biting or which.

k9mrussell 09-02-2004, 01:23 AM I'm in the 1st and 4th picture. The decoy (person getting bitten) is a police officer from Winchester VA named Steve Spaid. Those pictures were taken from the U.S.P.C.A. Police Dog Trials this past June in Martinsburgh WV.
BiXLL 09-02-2004, 07:08 AM Uhm, what am I missing? What Picture?????

BiXLL 09-02-2004, 07:18 AM Ahh, a leg rubber aye! OK.......
k9mrussell 09-02-2004, 12:43 PM LOL!!! I would rather be the person searching the suspect, than be the knot head that gets bitten!!! LOL There is nothing worse that having a 100 lbs police K9 hanging off your arm!!!

Yeah, that would sure ruin your day!
USMCUglyAngel 09-08-2004, 05:51 PM I've been drooling over this truck since it was a concept vehicle in 2000. I had just bought an Xterra, and was checking out links to Nissan. Needless to say, 4 years later, I've traded in the Xterra last week for my dream truck. Quad cab, 4X4, SE, Smoke grey....and love the 4X4 Off Road package with the Rancho's...this baby is a beast. My friend has a Dodge Ram 1500 with the Hemi...guess who smoke checked him. The Titan is gonna be around for a long time!!

Congrats and welcome to the club.
Titan_Fan 09-11-2004, 11:27 PM I Love whene I pull up next to a Dodge,Chevy,or Ford and see that the driver cant keep his or hers eyes of the TITAN... I LOVE pressing on the gas and ILL be damed if it doesnt say "OHHH YAAA BAABBYY ITS ON!!!!!"
Hehe welcome aboard Titan_Fan. Glad you found us. I had a blast almost all day in the truck. Got lots of looks and compliments. On top of that we pulled into a gas station and a carload of teenage guys were checkin the truck out. You guys know I have the Flowmaster exhaust and it really purrs nicely. When my brother got back out to the car I put it in reverse and gave a little gas. Then the kid in the passenger seat looked at me when it growled and says Light them up man. Well me being me what was I to do. I put her in gear and we peeled out the parking lot and down the street a good 40 ft or so then had to stop at the red light. I looked back and they were just happy as pigs in slop. I also got to show the truck off to my cousin and he loved it. He drives a Dodge Ram 4x4. He couldn't believe the power and the smooth ride. We did a few burnouts as well. So yeh I love my Titan and so do a lot of other people that have seen it. I am quite happy with this purchase.

Titan_Fan 09-11-2004, 11:49 PM :D Thnx M4ck. These trucks are alot of fun. And so far its been fun seeing other TITAN owners, their always waiving and ready to talk about how great these trucks are.
Yeh I know what you mean. On the way to my cousins we saw an older guy so we caught up to him and I talked to him at the red light for about 30 seconds. I asked him how he liked it and he said he absolutely loved it. Said it was the best truck he had ever owned. I tell you this guy probably has owned a few lol. Well in my excitement of seeing another titan I forgot to tell him to check out our site. Then after I did remember I thought to myself that guy has probably never even sat at a computer before. Just kinda country if you know what I mean.
He was a really nice guy though.

What do you mean "kinda country"? Now you don't like us country folks???? So let's see.... you don't like old people or country folk!
Go getem' BiXLL!!!!!!! LMAO
I said nothing about not likin country people or old people. I like both. Remember where I live. Travelers Rest SC. I say Greenville SC cause people know where thats at easier. Travelers Rest will not even allow them to build a Wal-Mart in because they are afraid it will put the small mom and pop places out of business. Believe me I live in the country pretty much. Luckily the city is close though. I was just saying from the looks of this guy he didnt seem like the computer using type. Then again if you met me you might not think I was the computer nerd type either. LOL. Seeing as I'm big dumb football player type. HEH. Well anyway maybe I shouldn't judge a book by its cover. If I have offended any of you please accept my appology.

videoguy 09-20-2004, 07:33 PM I just got my Titan on Friday, I live in Arizona, and I drove to Los Angeles and back over the week end.
I have never had a pick up before, I couldn't even tell.
But it was VERY NICE to have Ford, Chevy, and Dodge people looking at you on the freeway. I could see the envy in their eyes. 8)

Bighitter 09-21-2004, 11:33 PM I found this site through M4ck from following a link from hardocp.com's forums. So I am another computer geek like M4ck.
Well I have had my Titan since Saturday and love every thing about it so far. It is the first truck I have actually owned though have driven many different brands through jobs and friends and such.
The power is amazing and the ergonomics are perfect.
I love the fact that I have been asked about it every day by people I don't know about wether I like it and what it is like.
Welcome aboard BigHitter. Thats awesome you found us through HardOCP heh. I would have never thought that. Nice to have another geek as well. Hope you stick around we have a great bunch of guys here. Hopefully things will start growing even more. You know what they say "if you build it they will come" lol.
Anyway side note here are you a computer gamer. Just thought I'd ask. I'm not as active as I used to be but still frag with the best. I'm a Quake, Quake 2, Quake 3, Rocket Arena, Counter Strike, Pain KIller, Ghost Recon player. LOL If you can shoot a gun in a game I pretty much play it. I have also run several Clans in the past. None right now though. Hang around and have fun.
M4ck
Bighitter 09-22-2004, 01:09 PM I spent my share of timing fraggin away with the rest of the online community though my gaming time has seriously decreased over the last year between switching jobs and building a new house. I never seemed to be that good at the more twitch games but always had a blast playing them anyways. My latest craze was KOTOR and the StarWars galaxies. Now its my truck that is my new obsession.
My Titan and my fiance's Murano are our presents to ourselves after going through a very stressful year.
Cool man nice gifts too. Just can't wait to get it paid for though. HEH that will be a while.

I see ya. See what happens the NEXT time you try to snuggle up to me in bed, ya Old Fart!! Heehee
!!
But ANYWAYS, back to the topic at hand... Hubby got his Titan about a week and a half before my surgery. I was in some serious pain even before surgery, and that Dodge was a ROUGH RIDE. Every little bump was like agony. Coming home from the hospital after 2 weeks with 53 stitches in my belly (had my colon, gall bladder, appendix and 4 lymph nodes removed, hence all the staples...), I was scared to death of all the bumps in the road. I don't know where all of yall live, but the roads around here are awful. Pot holes EVERYWHERE. But the ride home was smooth as silk, thank the LORD. I love that truck.
