I’m thinking of lifting my titan, but I’m not sure which way to go. I only need 2-4 inches to do what I want, which leaves me with either getting a leveling kit, or getting a lift kit. Leveling kits are a lot cheaper, but I heard that it messing up the handling. Can someone give me some input on this, and where I might be able to go to get the best products?

Thanks,
Barnickle.

From the majority of the posts that I have read the leveling kit does not mess up the handling but rather makes it better. I have bought the leveling kit for my Titan but now I have to wait until Nissan replaces my bed (defective stray in liner) before I can install the kit. Best of luck with your decision.

I have a 3 inch lift from nitrousenterprises.com I love it. I just put on 315 70 17 on it today and only had to do a little mod to the pinch weld for the tires to not rub. I did have the stock tires on it. I would say it rides just like stock. My wife actualy said she likes it better. She was parking it and said it seem to turn easer. The ride is great. no different than stock. And for the price, It was a great buy. I sit just a little higher than my friends F150 4x4. with the stock tires and now just about a half inch more was added with the new tires.
If you have any specific question I'll help out as best I can.

You didnt state if you had a 2 or 4wd, it does make a difference, pm me and i will give you all the problems with going to certain heights with different models. Alot of people are starting to make leveling kits. Some are proven, many arent. Some are cnc machined billet aluminum, some steel, some plastic. prices are within about $50 of eachother by the time you add shipping and such. Some come complete with all the harware you need like washers and cotter keys and new bumpstops, some have grade 8 harware vs. grade 5. Some come with instructions and a phone number to reach a human to help you through the install, others just have an e-mail address. Some kits require you to completly disassembly the strut with a spring comopressor, some simply bolt on. Some companies actually have Titans to do r&d, others sell product and wait to see what breaks on thier customers trucks. There are many choices. But alot of it depends on what you want to do with YOUR truck. If you go out in the back country and seriously beat on the truck, if its a sreet truck, how do YOU want it to look? What stance do you want? these are options you have, but not with every kit.

PrerunnerGreg has all the correct info. He didn't mention it in his post, but he makes the best lift kit - period. Do a search for lift kits and you will find that the majority feel that way. If you want a kit that fits, has quality parts/construction and support from the maker then PRG is for you.

My Titan is higher on 1 side than the other. Greg custom cut my spacers to make it look for level.

He did this on a SUNDAY morning.

How many people would do this especially on a weekend.

Give your money to a guy that knows Titans by owning one. you won't be sorry.

I know this may be a little late, but I would make sure what ever you go with has a warranty. Meaning they will cover your drivetrain warranty if the lift should cause your warranty to be voided. I am talking from experience. My dad's GMC was lifted from the dealer when he bought it, and when the rear end went out they used the lift as a reason to void his warranty. The only fight left is to sue GM. I would hate for somebody here to have to go through what I have been to get his truck fixed. He ended up having to pay a 300 dollar tear down fee, and then have it towed to a rear end shop amd spen another 1200.00 to get it fixed. The stearership wanted 2800.00. In my dads case he is able to get his extended warranty money back, because they sold him a contract that could never cover the truck the way they sold it.

Just be careful for warranty exclusions. Most have more than you can read. ANd if you added the lift you can not get your warrenty money back
