I'm totally ignorant when it comes to car audio/mobile entertainment, what else would I need to purchase in order to have it function like the factory nissan offering? I have a place to install no problem, but is it something I could possibly tackle myself, even though wiring terrifies me. I've been looking at a dvd player for my daughter. Even got limo tint on the rear of the truck in anticipation of having a dvd player installed.

You'd just need a DVD Player like the M&D AD212. We're still waiting for someone to find a way to get it to function like OEM on the '08 models so for now, it'll have to use an FM Modulator to broadcast to a Radio Station or be wired into the Aux Jack.

The AD212 looks like this when it's installed into the OEM DVD Center Console:

i actually have the power acoustic dvd player for a 125 dollars with the fm modulator you need. So total for everything you need is 524 shipped to your door.

The reason i use the power acoustic is because I have had no problem with them at all and they are less expensive than myron dvd.player here is a picture of the power acoustic piece.

here is a link for it as well

If I buy your dvd player and screeen, will I only need the factory harness to use my factory controls (I have a 07 LE with the DVD button so does that mean the harness is already there patiently waiting for me to hook the screen up to it?)

Thanks

No. The factory rear controlls only work with the factory unit. but the dvd does have a remote and a remote eye so you can change things from any seat

Since you have an '07, you could be in luck. If you have the Factory harness to tap into, you can wire it into working identical to OEM. Check to see if you have the Harness circled in this Pic (You may need to register on CA to see it).

If you have it, we can walk you through llajumpvid's instructions fairly easily (much easier than it looks). It will just require some patience but will be well worth it.

http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196

If you do not have it, there is a similar alternative of basically hardwiring into the Aux Jack.

http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1613

One requirement for either way of hard wiring will be a Line Driver PreAmp like the PIE LD-1.

http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=317

Let me know if you do have that harness. I have some additional info that I've posted for others on CA that should be helpful in addition to llajumpvid's awesome one-of-a-kind writeup. Honestly, he's the only person I've ever seen figure out how to do this connect-up.

Either way that you decide to go, I can walk you through installing it to look identical to OEM. I think my parts (the Center Console Bin and Brackets) had cost close to $80 but I'm really glad that I did it.

Thanks pops . hey could you send me that parts list as well. I have not done a screen without an aftermarket head unit with the Titan or Armada . I asked Myron and they said no. I assume the factory uses resistance for the switches is that correct. Also if you ever need anything Pops please let me know.

Cheap and easy to Splice RCA cables along with a good set of RCA cables. I bought these from Best Buy:

Lastly, if you want to spare yourself a little trouble, you can use a PC Pin Jumper available for very cheap from almost any PC store inside the Harness. It's one of the Blue things in this pic:

Thats the exact same thing. Exactly the same thing. its made by myron and davis but its a 7 inch.here is the picture of my piece installed. look a little similar?

You are paying more for the same thing. Both of us are selling the exact same thing.

If you check my old post i actually used this picture. Its last years Myron And Davis 7 inch and 9 inch photo. But they replaced both with 8.5 inch. Its exactly the same piece but it has an 8.5 inch screen

Mychael, that is the Myron & Davis. Myron & Davis is the only company who makes a "Factory like Monitor" and Tech12 has the best prices that I've ever seen on them while providing a warranty.

Don't let the Stealership fool you. I would've kept my nose out of this thread if I didn't know for a fact that Tech's deals on these are untouched by anyone else out there.

Just remember when looking at these, the number after the "ANS1" is the screen size. Mine is a ANS178 (7.8" Screen) the ANS190 is a 9.0" screen, etc...

I brag about these monitors a lot and have looked and looked and cannot find better prices than he offers except for a few I've seen on eBay but they are almost always Non-Warrantied. You'll need the Warranty on these, I've already had mine replaced in less than 1-year due to a mfg defect that they've resolved on the newer models.

I HATE to sound like a "Product Pusher" but I can tell you that you'll most likely regret buying from anyone else because there's no doubt that you'll spend more for less. Just my $.02.

Sorry about beating this to death....but i want to put my ducks in a row...

Alright - last night i signed up for clubarmada and now having access to a lot of the pictures really helped me out with this....

I'm diggin the M&D set up as it seems to be the most minimally invasive, and frankly least expensive option....but what really is swaying me is the ability to wire this into the factory set up....I have an 07 SE with the midline system. I'm fairly confident that i have the factory DVD harness tucked into the center console (based on llajumpdavid's pics)...

One detail i havent fully grasped is the actual tapping of the harness. i get the stripping down of the RCA's - but how do you physically plug into the harness? I've seen the pictures of the "motherboard" pins...do you stab these into the slots in the harness....or do you cut the wires out of the back of the harness and tie together from there (i suppose that would work)?

funny how i can tear down an old car (corvette) to the frame and build it back up...but this titan audio system is bringing me to my knees (i'm probably just overthinking it....)

thanks guys!

thanks guys!yes tapping directly into the wires would be my choice. But pops can probably answer this better.Seeing that he has done it.

I used the Motherboard Jumper inside the wiring harness to connect the 2 pins for the "FES Enable" and "Audio On" instead of splicing a jumper wire like everyone else has been doing.

For the wire connects, I just had help soldering the RCA connections directly to the wires leaving the harness alone.

As for the button, once the "FES Enable" is connected to the "Audio On", your system will begin to think that it has the factory DVD Player on it and it will become an additional option in your selection list using whatever button you have for it. Mine is by holding the Rear A/V but if you have the CD/DVD button, it should become an option when using it.

Here's a little more detail on that part:

http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/showthread.php?p=66757

The only thing I can think of to add to this is that if you confirm that you have the harness and the wires to tap into, a few of us can walk you through the process on ClubArmada as long as you have the patience to mess with it. The Instructions are tough to write up in a "Universal" format and it's usually easier to assist someone through it as they're doing it because it becomes much more simple than anticipated as you're working on it. I took my time on it driving around with my Center Console torn apart for over a week and am glad that I did.
