OK Guys, I'm going to throw this out there and see if it sticks. I started a thread on the quickest non tuned titan, and every one said Rossi was the man. I got some feed back from Rossi and found out I'm quicker than him before he got headers. So here goes 04titanss IS the Quickest non tuned, no header titan. ET 14.627@91.82 mph Let me hear what you think.

Original Thread: http://www.clubtitan.org/forums/showthread.php?t=42206

Thread with Rossi's Quote: That 14.6 is without headers!!! I think I ran 14.73 without headers.

My fastest time for 1/8th = 9.581...
That would be a calculated 14.98 in the 1/4th...

Not too bad for a 4WD CC LE Titan..

Calculated conversions from 1/8th to 1/4 mile times rarely pan out to be accurate (whether it's an AWD turbo sedan, 2WD RWD Sports car, or full sized pickup truck). You might be dead on, but it's unlikely.

Not trying to pee in your cherios or anything, just pointing out that the logic doesn't typically hold true. It can even vary across the same idential vehicle in most cases. Kind of weird actually...

Oh I know, lol.. Its never accurate. Last time I ran the 1/4th, it was my first trip ever to any track. I ran a 15.5 in mid 70 to low 80 weather, with really high precipatation and humidity...

The mods I had when I ran that was: S&B CAI, MF Muffler, 2* Advance

It's a shame they don't let you "rent" the track for a day...

Getting used to launching a vehicle takes time. It's certainly easier with an auto tranny (which is one of the reasons that the absurdly competitive folks use them), but it can still vary from vehicle to vehicle, even identical models.

Nice times! Although true you are untuned........ as another PGM owner myself i know that the mod fixes the 0-40 mph fix ad thats good for a few 10ths. But tecnically ya you are untuned good deal. Or maby an astricks that says "tuned by thrust and randy" lol. I need to drive quite a ways to get to a 1/4 mile around here. I ran a 9.918@75mph in the 1/8 without headers though. And a cracked exhaust manifold!
Keep up the good work and put uprev on the list.

I just want to keep this thread in perspective. I just realized you have a PGM. This almost gives you a tuned truck since you have much more throttle down low then a non-tuned Titan.

IF your run was with a stock throttle body I could understand thsi thread. But now that I realize that you have a PGM that sort of puts you with mods that 99.99% of the Titan owners out there do not have.

So your times can not be compared with any non-tuned/non header Titan unless it also has a PGM.

I'm not raining on anyones parade. Just making sure all the facts are realized. 14.6 is still a smoking number! And it shows that the PGM works because your 60' times is awesome.

What was your 60' times, alot of ET is gained or lost at the 60' timers.

This is what i want everyones opinion.

Rossi, My 60' was from the Truetrac install not the PGM, before TT my best was 60' 2.16. When you posted over on MT your best ET before headers /uprev was 14.73 what mods did you have?

He has more juice out the hole with PGM. Your MPH is higher because your 07' makes more "peak HP" but he has more power under the curve or more overall power with PGM and his other mods, especially 1st gear..Every 1/10th in the 60' is worth 2/10ths at the end of the track. You have a peg leg and the stock throttle control limits 0-40mph acceleration they are both killing your 60' times...

How about this Quickest Full Street Trim, PGM, No Tune, No Headers! I can add more if it is to abbreviated. LOL!!
Now if i do the short belt mod i should go 14.5's, we'll if i can get off the line without the wheelspin, yes, the 2.070 60' had wheel spin. If i remove the spare, tailgate, jack, taller DR's, etc...................... I might go 14.4's Only time will tell, in February when SCD reopens with its new concrete drag strip.

Break down on my times. By trips to SCD.
1. 15.17 air box mod, K&N, F/M 40, helper springs, 26" DR's
2. 14.89 PGM, Volant 3, 170 stat, 2*, F/M 40, stock 17's
3. 14.83 SAME, 07 pipes w/ M/F 26" DR's hit speed limiter at 1200 ft.
4. 14.62 SAME, ram air mod, Truetrac, pinion shims, 17's, burnout mod(didn't work cut wrong wire)

Yes with a Short belt you should take .1 or so off your ET!!

A 2.07 is a damn good 60'. I think I only pulled a 1.99 once or twice on street tires. I was typically a 2.0/2.1 60'.

But that PGM will work like UpRevs ETC tune. You can probably pull 1.9's pretty consistent with it. But stock tires......it will be tricky!

So PGM is like having no DBW restriction with that huge throttle body.

Not that this is important but I pulled a 2.057 60' with my badyears, peg-legged.

Pinion shims they go between the spring and axle perch to tilt the axle up or down in number of degrees. All u-joints need some up/down angle to them to rotate correctly, the stock axle has about 1-1.5* down. You add more angle by adding the shims, lowered or racing you want to tilt the axle pinion flange down, lifted 4x4 you need the angle to go up. A couple of degrees down will help plant the tires harder on launch at the drags. Do not go more than 4* it will throw the u-joints into bind and burn them up.

If there is a big truck chassis shop close by you can get them a lot cheaper than the link, i only paid $8 for mine. You may not see a big difference in the 60' but you wil be more consistent. This is a old racers trick, check out the pinion angle section on the last link for a better explanation.

go with 3 for starters...pending gauge of steel. I got the metal at home depot and it was about 1/2" wide 3-4ft long. I needed them due to the drivetrain telling me so...and they just so happened to help my 60's...thanks drive train!

Gotta know when to hold them gotta know when to drop them.....OK since Nick is a trooper for sharing tricks I'm gonna share this with you CT draggers.

If you have a Hellwig you can preload the rear suspension...ask anyone if they have noticed my truck sits higher on the right side in the rear or if they even noticed. Well it does and that's because I have the hellwig setup to do so. That's a 60ft tip for you guys as well.
