I have around another year to pay on the wifes car and we are interested in getting A mid sized S.U.V
when this car is paid for. (Yeah I know another 5 year loan who wnat more payments) but seeing how I just bought my Titan I think its only fair.
My wifes car is A 2000 honda and it still has low millage on it around 58k.I dont want to trade it in beacuse we owe such A small amount on it and the darn thing runs so good. :D
We have been looking at the Mercedes Benz ML320
or maybe even as compact as the Toyota rav4 nothing smaller than the toyota though.I cant seem to make my mind on what kind of mid size S.U.V to get but I definetly know that I dont want A domestic car.
Nothing wrong with the American product I just seem to have real bad luck with them.!!! :(
So if any of you have A mid size forien s.u.v and you have any comments on witch way I should go I would really appreciate it

While I don't have one, I have heard nothing but good comments on the new Pathfinder. Worth looking at, at the very least! My wife decided on an Altima, but we were considering the Murano which is a very sweet ride!

Well, I bought my wife one of the '05 Pathfinders about a month ago. She LOVES it! She won't let me drive it very much either, but oh well. Averaging about 23-25 mpg. Paid just over $29k for it. But, she's not planning on driving ANY thing else for a WHILE! Got 2wd, because we've got the Titan. What questions do you have about it? Maybe I can answer them.

Here's a picture of it: (sorry m4ck, gotta show it again!)

Do yourself a favor and bypass the ML's. I too was interested in getting one last year but after much research and talking with current owners they were terribly overated and plagued with quality problems. Most of the mercedes lineup is suffering from quality problems and has been for several years now. Join one of the many mercedes forums and talk to some of the owners, you'll see what I mean.

The market is flooded right now with SUV's and lots of them out there are darn nice. Take the time to drive the ones that really interest you and talk with current owners on the net. They're all great in the beginning, it's 3 to 5 years later that really counts!!

Don't know if my wife's SUV would interest you, but she drives a Hyundai Sante Fe GLS 4x4. It's an '04. It's a really nice vehicle, has a good amount of room in it, and you get a lot of goodies for what you pay for them. Ours has the 3.5L V-6 (about 200 HP), fulltime 4WD, 5-speed auto, air, CD and cassette with 6 speakers, power windows, locks & mirrors, buckets with full console, cruise, roof rack, etc. Does pretty good on gas (about 20-22 MPG) and the 3.5 has plenty of power. And, it comes with a 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty. All of the horror stories about Hyundai are old news; these folks build some really nice vehicles with a lot of standard features for the money. Ours stickered for about $24K. Over 7,000 miles on it now without any problems whatsoever.

Thanks for the info jet tech.Thats why I posted the question to you all. I thought Mercedes was suppose to be A good product of German engeneering but I quess it goes to show you even the best of them can make some shitty models.
I have seen the Pathfinders and to be honest with you I am really fond of them.I have also been looking at the Toyota s.u.v
Well keep the comments commin I really do appreciate all of the info fellas

Yeah, they are nice rides. It took a little while to get used to the look of the vehicle, but it grew on me and to be honest I like the fact that it doesn't look like all of the other "shoe box" SUV's out there. All I can say is to go and drive one and get a good look at it. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

You don't need an SUV, go test drive an Acura TL. We were considering a new Pathfinder for my wife when we realized we don't need 3 trucks. I loved the new pathfinders but we just couldn't justify having 1 truck, an SUV and the original SUV.

I will go ahead and warn you to stay away from Trailblazers and the Tahoe family. I've had both as rentals and I'm not sure who they market that junk to, but I know it's not me.

I to bought my wife the 05 pathfinder. Very nice suv. We got the Le and paid just over 31 for it. I think I have driven it 2 times, but then again I bought my titan the same day so still love driving more though.

My wife has a 04 Murano and LOVES IT!!

My wife also has a Murano. She likes it better than any vehicle she has ever had. Plenty of room in the back to haul stuff with the seats down, and has lots of room for her friends with the seats up. She has 13K miles, gets about 25.5 MPG on the road.

Yeah I'm staying away from all the American cars. Even though my Titan was made in America I think I would rather stick to A foriegn manufature.
I spent some time at the Nissan dealership this morning. I was waiting for my truck to get the brakes resurfaced so I decided to take A stroll into the lot and take A look at the pathfinders and Muranos
I was impressed!!! I met up with the salesman who sold me the truck and he took me around the lot and showed me the vehicles. I told him I was not in the market to buy another vehicle but I wanted to look.
Gave me alot of info on the pathfiders. Man they cant keep these cars on the lot just selling like hot cakes. While I was there they were selling 3 new pathfinders and A new 05 Titan.
I seen the new 05 Titan and the only thing new was the rear center window goes down and on the sides of the door it says v8 Titan in chrome letters.Thats it but I was glad to get my Nissan back

Since you've had good luck with your Honda, why not test drive the Pilot. My brother bought one for his wife and she loves the thing; decent power, plenty of room but not oversized, smooth ride, Honda quality. Those Honda dealers like to see people trade in their old Hondas for newer Hondas.
