: Just got home from the track
Rossi 02-07-2008, 12:59 AM The Titan ran like a champ today and if it weren't for the dew getting the track wet as the sun went down I could have done better!!
My best slip of the night:
60' 1.864
1/8 8.850
MPH 76.919
1/4 13.998
MPH 95.295
Here are the pics for anyone that has any doubts!
Leadsled124 02-07-2008, 01:32 AM 13.998 you made it man congrates!!!!!!!!! First time in the 13's right! Thats awsome do you thing the pully made up some of the difference or just good weather?
you beat me to it..... but oh well u deserve it uve been so close for so long. I think ur the first non cammed N/A titan in the 13's correct? (unless you count the 07s but their half cammed lol)
KINGMADE 02-07-2008, 01:39 AM Congrats on the 13's. Long time coming for you. Guess the WRP pulley helped right :D
float_test 02-07-2008, 01:55 AM Im happy for ya Ron, thats great to see you in the 13's and Congrats.
AgTitan06 02-07-2008, 03:36 AM Congrats!!!! Nice time!
christenayuca 02-07-2008, 04:31 AM thats cool non camed
Papa_D 02-07-2008, 08:25 AM Congratulations man, you deserve it for all the hard work on your truck.
I just have one question though. Exactly how many chickens do I have to sacrifice to the speed Gods and can I just get a 12 piece at KFC or do they have to be live? lol.
Way to go buddy, I doubt I'll make my goal this year, I have some serious tuning to do and a couple other things to work out but in the mean time it's nice to see you going quicker.
I just noticed your RT's, way to hit the tree for that .088 light.
Rossi 02-07-2008, 08:39 AM The WRP pulley definetly makes the truck rev faster. Look at my 60' times baby!!!!
PAPARYNO 02-07-2008, 08:43 AM That awesome Rossi!!!!!!!! I knew you'd be there anyday!! :)
WOWWWWWW!!!! 13 sec club..!!
hehe on a side note... can't you just imagine evryone with their heads turned sideways reading your time slips.... LOL
Jaho1979 02-07-2008, 09:19 AM Great run, congrats!
dbolemiss 02-07-2008, 09:32 AM Welcome to the club, think i'm going to stick my pulleys on now and see what she will do.I love that 60',thats where it counts.
Warp09 02-07-2008, 09:36 AM Nice times man! Glad you got into the 13s...
Rossi 02-07-2008, 10:07 AM Thanks guys!! I put a good deal of work into this truck and I'll admit I had it in my mind that without CAMS a 2004-2006 Titan will not run 13's.
For those that want to try...don't give up. I started running this truck a little over a year ago and with a drop in filter and JBA cat back she ran a 14.97. So I don't think I have a freak of a truck.
And now I sit here with I think the only non cammed 2004-2006 Truck that has posted a sub 14 run. The weather was fair yesterday and it was 51 degrees for my best run.
I could have beat that time but once the sun set it got real moist...the track cooled and trackion was impossible. But it this way.....I have a couple time slips you haven't seen with a 60' over a tenth worse then this and the other slips with a et of 14.02. I tried several times to get traction when I seen this because I knew she was trying to run.....but finally gave up.....I just couldn't get traction any longer.
So she has a 13.90-13.85 in her with the right conditions. She wanted to do this last night but I couldn't hook up any more.
The conditions for my run was:
51 degrees
30.20 bar pressure
73% humidity
dew point 40 degrees
suddenurge 02-07-2008, 10:18 AM You must have had a big smile on your face when you finally saw that 13 on the slip, way to go! Your weather looked pretty good and those days are hard to come by. I'm hoping like hell to get some temps in the upper 50s on track day in April and May.
markislive 02-07-2008, 11:11 AM Way to go Rossi U deserve it man! Look at that 60' time damn! You beat my 14.07 non-CAM'ed record...now all I have is the fastest non-CAM'ed w/out drag tires : ( I think? Haven't been here much lately..
Man that 60' you have is alomost 2/10's higher than my best on street tires....maybe I coulda ran a 13.77 on some slicks...
QShip 02-07-2008, 12:34 PM Way to go Rossi!!!!!
Rossi 02-07-2008, 12:53 PM When I did my first run I noticed...hey...I hit 4th gear a bit sooner then normal. Got my ticket.....14.02!! I was pretty excited when I seen that...and my 60' in the 1.8's!!!
After seeing this ticket I knew I had a chance. Ran one more time...14.01 and another 1.8 60'. Then finally she came...13.9 and another 1.8 60' time.
I think my 60's are due to the WRP crank pulley...she's rpm'ing a good deal quicker.
I thought I could beat the 13.9 because it was getting cooler fast. But when the sun went down the track cooled and condensation started getting on all the cars....exhaust dropping a good deal of water....my 1.8 60' times went away. I would spin my DR's for about 5 ft then hook and go.
A Dodge Cummins gernaded his front differential at about the 1/8 mile mark...so it was time for me to go...I was done and very HAPPY!
Toomnymods 02-07-2008, 04:51 PM wow awesome 60' time to slap in some cams now.. u know you want too,lol
dbolemiss 02-07-2008, 05:19 PM Hey Chris, you got a set of those pulleys yet? Rossi is making me want to slap mine on now and get to the track with those 60'.
For the record I took the crank pulley to a machine shop yesterday to see if it is balanced, the guy told me it would be a couple hunderd $ just for him to make the piece to spin it on so told him I'd pass.Just by looking at it he said it was made very nice and sees no reason for it not to be "the guy has 30 years experience with the stuff".
TexasTitan05 02-07-2008, 05:23 PM Great runs Rossi!!

im contacting another company to see if they will make a underdriven "dampened" pulley for us..
im not going to risk grenading my motor over something that only makes me like 8hp,lol
RBsTitan 02-07-2008, 06:02 PM Get you some! I'm sitting here in KY airport reading those sliPs sideways on a 2in scReen.
AwesomE!!!!!!!!
Papa_D 02-07-2008, 06:30 PM im contacting another company to see if they will make a underdriven "dampened" pulley for us..
im not going to risk grenading my motor over something that only makes me like 8hp,lolI like the looks of the WRP pullies but I would feel all warm and fuzzy if it had a dampener on it. With a dampener on it, I'm down.
Rossi 02-07-2008, 06:40 PM As long as the WRP pully is truly balanced I don't forsee a problem!!!
And if I have one....I'll be under that truck yanking that pulley off before it goes in the shop I assure you!!!!

And if I have one....I'll be under that truck yanking that pulley off before it goes in the shop I assure you!!!!Lol, I hear ya man, I may be getting a little over cautious as I get older. There was a day when I would have just slapped it on there, just not today, lol.
I'm happy to see it's working out for you though and as hard as you worked for it, I hope your non cammed non VVT record stands for a long time.
Rossi 02-07-2008, 08:40 PM It might......who knows. Now I need to find a bag of cash on the street and get some cams in there.....and someone to install em for me. Then I'll be after Chris again!!!!
OH...I have to throw this out there....
LONG LIVE SHORT TUBE HEADERS!!!! LOL
Papa_D 02-07-2008, 09:51 PM It might......who knows. Now I need to find a bag of cash on the street and get some cams in there.....and someone to install em for me. Then I'll be after Chris again!!!!
OH...I have to throw this out there....
LONG LIVE SHORT TUBE HEADERS!!!! LOLYou said it man, tuned right with a good DA and a little wt reduction and you are there. I always told people to stop bad mouthing the short tubes and I'm glad you stuck with them.
I personally wouldn't want to install them but they sure seem to be making a lot of power down low and getting you off the line like Speedy Gonzales. I am having some growing pains with my exhaust but I think like you, if I just keep after it I can make power higher in the band and have another beast.
I am sitting here smiling while I write this and I wish I could have been there, lol.
dbolemiss 02-07-2008, 10:09 PM I've been sitting on my pullies for a while now waiting to see if anybody has any problems out of them.I think one guy said he has 2500 miles with no problems at all. After seeing rossi's 60' i think i'm going to stick them on in the morning and do a couple logs, maybe hit the track tomorrow night if the install doesn't kick my a$$.
sc186 02-08-2008, 08:34 PM Nice job, Rossi!
You sure do seem to have that truck of yours dialed in. Cant wait till the next drags I can make it to. Maybe a statewide drag meet is in order.
SPEEDDEMON 02-08-2008, 11:31 PM Congrats Rossi, I hope now people will stop underestimating the power of short tube headers and with a good tune, well combined mods and some good tricks they will perform LOL
Leadsled124 02-09-2008, 03:09 AM OH...I have to throw this out there....
LONG LIVE SHORT TUBE HEADERS!!!! LOL
Ha i would say go long tubes but i have not got them to work yet. Jarod added 9 clicks to the fuel table and its still running a little lean down low. If and when it all works out im coming for YOu Rossi lol!!! Untill then congrates again on a 13 second tundra eater
kha4079 02-09-2008, 03:18 AM Congrats!!!!!!!!!
