I'm 95% sure that I'll be there.

I think PRIMITIVE camping is a fun idea (even though it's only 1 hr from me), although I have no tent, I'll just sleep in my truck. I can probably scrounge up some firewood though, and I have a small coleman grill.

I'm working on having 2-full size 35" spares on 17" wheels specifically for this event!! (counting on YOU sleazymatt)

Sounds like someone's planning to get into something serious (I better bring my video camera too...lol)!

Also, I have an extra tent and an extra air mattress (not so primitive I know but well worth it!) that I could bring if you decide to come. I'm planning on camping for the night...it's been awhile and should be fun. It all depends on what the weather is like then.

Not too serious, I just like to be prepared!!!

I forgot that I have 2 air mattresses here. Camping sounds fun to me though, haven't gotten drunk and sat around a fire since about Labor Day!! hehehe

Stock truck will be just fine. These parks have trails for stock trucks as well as heavily modified. Our group will be sticking to the mild trails because none of us want to damage our trucks.

I was thinking of camping on Saturday night. I might be able to do Friday night though. I guess it all depends on when they close the park on Friday if I can make it there in time.

Silver, truck's looking real good. Its amazing how a few inches of lift can change the look of your truck so much. Grub is always a good thing...I will contribute to that cause as well.

As soon as we have a better idea who all is coming (hopefully some more people will decide to get involved with this) maybe we can schedule a time to meet up.

It's not too far from Harrisburg, so probably about 4 hrs+/- from Pittsburgh.

I spoke with a Rausch Creek MOTORSPORTS Park representative at a recent show up at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. Rumors of this meet had been flying around at that time and I was hoping to get a bunch of information from them. Sadly, that wasn't the case. There are two parks on the same property: the MOTORSPORTS Park (for quads and dirtbikes) and the OFFROAD Park (for Jeeps, trucks, etc. Where we'll be going)) The Motorsports place owns the entire property and leases a chunk to the Offroad Park people. My understanding is that both places operate completely apart from one another. Paying for a day at one won't also get you into the other, vice-versa. Seperate parking, seperate entrances, etc...

Hope that clears things up.

Hey guys...just wanted to let you all know a few things that I came across.

*This event is open to all makes and models so if you have friends in Chevy, Dodge, Ford, Toyota etc. they are more than welcome to join us!

*If you plan to camp there overnight they do ask for a reservation. There is no additional cost for this. They have room for campers, popups, trailers etc.

*To speed up your registration and sign-in, please download the documents, fill them out, and bring them with you when you visit the facility. You'll get to go wheeln' sooner! The form requires the following info from BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS: Name, address, phone number, emergency contact info, driver's license number, vehicle description and license plate. Also, initial (do not check) the four individual waiver paragraphs. They need this information from passengers too.

That's why I asked about the picture, cause I don't want involved w/ anything like that (lots of mud/water that is)

titanse05
04-28-2008, 12:45 PM
Good, one strap in our group will work. I think that its a requirement for the group anyway.

I went to both Paragon off road meets and no one was even close to needing a strap. And most, including myself were stock.

The trails that we will be on, the green ones, will just be tame trails that will have obstacles like mudpits but they will also have bypasses for those that don't want to get wet. I know that I for one will be getting in the mud, but not everyone has too........but it's fun!

Man, I wish I could have been there. It looks like it was a perfect day for muddin. Did anybody have to get pulled out? Did anybody break anything?

It was somewhat cold and very foggy in places but aside from that it was a perfect day! They had a ban on all fires in the county so camping could've really sucked but luckily a friend that came along brought his camper and we all fit pretty snugly.

Nobody got stuck or even broke anything for that matter. The closest anyone came was "oh_look_its_tim" because he had the stock off road tires with very little tread left on them. But even with that he managed to get himself out without any issues. I actually have some video of that but haven't had time to post it up.

The park is very large and the trails were for the most part pretty wide (at least the trails we stuck to were). A couple of the trails were closed but we really didn't notice it with plenty of other places to wheel. There was mainly jeeps and midsize toyotas there...and I have to say I did leave with a bit of jeep envy lol! It was alot of fun watching them climb over stuff with their short wheel base.

I think after seeing some of these pics we will stir up alot of interest for the next meet. Hope you make it home for the next one!
