: Nissan GT-R
Rossi 03-27-2008, 01:14 PM Well last night at the track Edmonds was out there with a camera crew and they have a White Nissan GT-R!!!
It was pretty dirty...but still very nice looking car!! Not too sure a man my size will be very comfortable in it though!!! I asked why it was dirty and apparently it just ran in some rally and this car is on tour.
The didn't let anyone line up against it ....she just ran once and alone.
It ran a 11.8 and it seems like it only trapped at around 112 mph. He actually broke all 4 tires loose on launch for a few feet....and man that thing was GONE!!!
I snapped a couple pics with my phone...not good pics...but here they are.
Update..just found this info about the car:

Rossi 03-27-2008, 01:14 PM One thing I noticed...the motor has a throttle body on each side of the motor..and it is a TRUE CAI system too. I wish I had my regular camera...I would have taken a lot of pics!
KINGMADE 03-27-2008, 01:15 PM which side was the steering wheel on... just wondering if this one was actually intended for the states.
baseballfanz 03-27-2008, 01:16 PM Nice pictures, look like 2 radiator caps also?
Rossi 03-27-2008, 01:20 PM The steering was on the left side. Here's a pic of the inside. Not a good pic but here it goes...
PuvMan 03-27-2008, 01:20 PM the more i see/hear about it, the more a drool!
Doola36 03-27-2008, 01:22 PM the more i see/hear about it, the more a drool!
I second that......:)
Rossi 03-27-2008, 01:22 PM It's a little longer and I think a little widder then the Z. The back has a Z06 look too it. Nice looking exhaust tips....two on each side. two hood scoops...that are functional.....big ole beefy tires!!! Man you SC or Turbo that thing and it would take flight!

It is a twin turbo 3.8 liter.... all Skyline GT-Rs were turbocharged.

The new 350z has dual intakes as well...
kuntao 03-27-2008, 01:32 PM Nice..............
it probably the same GT-R that Steve Millen test drove for Road & Track.
check out the article
In February 2008, Road & Track asked Steve Millen to test the worlds newest and hottest sports cars, this time pitting the much anticipated Nissan GT-R versus the Corvette Z06 and Porsche 911 Turbo. Road & Track secured the first left-hand drive US version of the GT-R to hit the states, and immediately transported it to Buttonwillow to see if the hype was warranted.
more infor can be found here

but you got to see it.
04TitanKC 03-27-2008, 02:22 PM I think its about time Nissan brought something like this over here. I have been reading and watching the GT-Rs, Silvias, 200sx, 180sx, Pulsar GTiRs etc etc for years and we would get a 300zx TT with 280hp and a Sentra SE-R... (which I love both BTW) Finally we can say Nissan has a real sports car, IN AMERICA.
Now if I could only put that motor in my Titan with AWD!!!
SoonerTitan 03-27-2008, 02:37 PM Wow, that's sweet. I owned an early 80's Skyline when I lived in Japan but it never ran 11.8 (it wasn't a GTR).
nselvera 03-27-2008, 03:22 PM That's awesome. I also wouldn't mind having that motor in a titan. Titan GTR perhaps? I wouldn't mind having those wheels. I wonder if they would fit.
Rossi 03-27-2008, 05:11 PM This is the GT-R that I saw!!

Here's the deal. There are only seven U.S.-spec GT-Rs on American soil and we're taking one on the road. We've got a new gas credit card, a white 2009 Nissan GT-R and three days to cover as many miles as we can. Nissan made us agree to just two rules.
1) The Edmunds' Inside Line office in Santa Monica, California is the starting line.
2) The car makes it to Reno, Nevada in one piece.
But here's the question. Where should we go? Help us plan our route. We can drive the GT-R anywhere we want. Should we hit a racetrack? Route 66? Your house? Help us out here. Where would you take somebody else's GT-R?
Then tune back to this blog space on Wednesday March 26th and tag along for the ride. We'll be blogging from the road, complete with photos and video. It'll be like you're riding along with us in the year's hottest car. The adventure will last three days. We also promised Nissan the car would be returned to its engineers early the morning of Saturday March 29th.
So tell your friends and bookmark this page. We'll update it over the next week and a half as our route takes shape.

That was some good reading. I was kinda hoping for video though. ;)
TitanMadness 03-27-2008, 06:21 PM I believe it's the latest edition of Road & Track the cover says GT-R Spanks 911 Turbo and ZO6. Something like that.
EDIT: Found this link
Funny the GT-R weighed and most.
