I am trying to get a Texas meet together for next year. I need some opinions. How many of you would like to have a weekend long camping TX meet. The place I am thinking about has motels near by. Who all would be interested & would you camp or stay in motel?
I am trying to do some better planning on this one.
I want to blow the florida guys away. I bet we could have 100 trucks there if we wanted to.

that would be cool, i'm in... somewhere around new braunfels would be
cool. i'd be up for roughing it out, and pitch a tent to camp out in.

hahaha...he said pitch a tent! lol. Anywho, I would stay in a hotel personally. Not that I don't like the outdoors, I just need the hotel since I am in a wheelchair. If you do decide to do something, do it in February or Early March so it isn't too hot.

I'm down for it, but due to work probably won't be able to make it unless it is May or later. I would tent.

Camping sounds fun, specially if theres a place to go swimming and play some sports....

New Braunfels area...

I think the months of May, August, or September would be cool.

This is kinda what I had in mind. The place is on lake belton. There is one area that has about ten trailer hookups & a massive pavilion in the middle. Each camp site allows one tent to each camper. So that is enough for about 20 camp setups. The hotels & motels are in belton & temple about 15 miles away. Park closes at 10pm so no one can leave or enter after that time. I would set it up to reserve that area from friday to sunday. If there were others that wanted to camp then there are plenty of other places in the park to camp. There is a boat ramp if any one wanted to bring there boat. Lake belton is a pretty much constant level lake. There are also areas that people could tent camp next to a screened room in another part of the park. If I do this I would have to ask for donations from each truck to help with the expence of renting that area.
How does that sound to everyone?

I am trying to get a rough estimate of who would be pulling campers, tent camping or hotels. Please let me know which one you would do. Thanks

ah, canyon lake is awesome... went up there a couple of years ago. we rented a lake house for the weekend. the guadalupe runs over there too, and you can put your toob in there, and float for about 4-5 hours down to the rendezous point. loads of fun!!

This would be the turkey roost area. It has alot of shade. Looks like we could get about 10 campers & 20 tents there.
It is 175.00 a night. I am checking with them to see if there is any extra cost for camping. Yes there are showers & bathrooms in that area. This would just be for us. No outside campers could use our area.

I like it. Sounds pretty cool. I'd be in for sleeping wherever. Even in my truck if necessary. My best friend works for USACE too and said that is a pretty nice lake. Subscribing to keep updated on dates and costs, etc.

I'm subscribing so I can stay up with this.

I definitely want to come, so when a date is set, I'll try to make it work. We would stay at a hotel, no camping for us!

would like to go but would not be able to say yes or no till it got closer to the date. I work in the production industry and when stuff needs to get done, it has to get done ;)
