What happened to him? An accident? (If you don't mind me asking.)

Houston police and firefighters early today cleared the site of a fiery two-car accident on the Southwest Freeway in which a man died and a woman was injured.

The accident, which occurred about 8 p.m. Monday, forced the closure of all main lanes in both directions between Weslayan and Edloe. The site finally was cleared about 3 a.m.

The accident occurred when a woman driving a Chevy Impala in the 3800 block of U.S. 59 South changed lanes and sideswiped a Nissan Titan, authorities said.

The Titan then swerved left, driving up a concrete divider before striking the metal post of a freeway sign, flipping over and pinning the driver under the pickup, police said.

Witnesses were able to pull a woman and two dogs out from the passenger side of the truck, but were unable to get the driver out before the truck became engulfed in flames, authorities said.

Police late this morning identified the pickup driver as Bobby Key, but no further information about him was released.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identification is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

The woman was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating. No information was available on whether the driver of the car returned to the crash site

Can someone in the local area do a brief recon of the nearesst exits for a lot big enough for all to meet up at? We will not be able to do a Titan Honor Gaurd sicne it will be in same place as service. But we can all pull in together.
