My first report on good old fashioned "dino" oil. Note that this is from mostly city driving, short distances in many cases (I live 2 miles from work). Don't think I'll pay the extra cost of synth based on these numbers....

Thanks for posting the info Sci. I was going to buy some Mobil 1 next oil change, but I might just stick to the Valvoline myself after reading this. 8O

Nice!

What does an analysis like that cost? Can I ship it off from anywhere?

excellent report and thanks for posting it here. After everyone had commented about it I would like to move it to the oil sample report section that we have.

A report like this is starting to support my theory that these engines are built so well that it may not matter what we put in there. Valvoline is known for its weak additive package and is probably the least favorite amongst oil nuts like myself, but this report clearly shows that it did excellent in the Titan engine. Hmmmm, maybe I will try the Crisco oil and see how it does...:) Thanks again SciTitan...

I've been thinking about using used peanut oil out of my fryer... you guys think that would do alright?

JetTech - Oops. I thought I was in the Oil sample area when I posted. Should have made it larger too. Yeah, I think your right on the how well built the engine is. I'm sure glad they didn't build the engines in Canton!

MrFisherman - the sample costs $20 w/out TBN or $30 with it. You can ship it from anywhere through normal mail in a kit that Blackstone labs sends you. They make it painless.
