A cheap way is to use toothpaste and some paper towels. Just rub it in likw you would a polishing compound, and then wipe it clean.

Toothpaste is awesome, has many uses!!! Also if you ever get burned, apply toothpaste immediately and you shouldn't have any blistering the next day either....

On my '91 Ranger I used regular automotive polish (not wax) and it made a world of difference.

easiest way is to use Plastic X by meguiars..you can get it for like 5 bucks at any auto store and actually does a pretty damn good job. Just need to muscle it a bit.

Yes, but what I used was stuff that I already had in my detailing kit. So for me it was "free".

800 grit, then 1500 grit water sand paper to get the fine scrathes out then use neverdull or compound to finish. Try to get all of the wax off or the heat from the headlight will start it to dull again. Worked great for mine!:thumbsup-big:

If you do this, just be sure to re-seal the headlight or it will "yellow" and dull back to what it was in no time.

How do you "re-seal the headlight"?

Meguire's makes a headlight restoration kit for about $25. If it's just the plastic cover use PlasteX.

I use the Diamonite Headlight restoration kit, which includes clear plastic liquid armor which is applied after the restoration is complete to seal the headlight lense. This protects the headlight lense and adds UV protection, which prevents the discoloration from reoccurring rapidly.
Here is the website again, as I had listed in a previous reply.
