I think too many people up here will stop liking me if I say that it's "better" than the Flowmaster, it's a completely different sound. It's single exit, instead of dual exit. NOTE: I don't like that Flowmaster b/c it's a "fake" dual exit. Things like that are just frowned upon here. (meaning from the engine off both sides to a single muffler, then back out in 2 pipes. I like the rich roar that the Banks produces. It's a very "real" sound. The Flowmaster to me, has a backpopping sound which I hate! Some guys up here have flowmasters, and I LOVE it! I think the recordings are better than others. I simply prefer the Banks. I'm knocking their sytems, just telling you my personal preference. The choice is up to you. Us Banks guys will tell you "BANKS", and the Flowmaster guys will tell you "FLOWMASTER". Have fun deciding!

Im with NK here on the 'backpopping' - I hate that too. All systems will enhance the sound of our V8's - bottomline it comes down to personal preference, I've researched them all and found the sound and appearance I'm looking for in the Banks system. The big tip is perfect! Dimension wise it fits soo nice. Not to mention I can install it in my garage at home. Jersey put some really good videos:

Hey guys - anybody keeping track here? By my count we have 6 in and 2 that have expressed interest but haven't confirmed their participation.

Sorry to get off topic here, but regarding the Flowmaster cat back system, I have been running mine since January and have never heard any "back popping" from it. The tone has stayed very deep. Perhaps on a custom system and/or a different type of truck there is some of that noise. I also like the look of the dual pipes, despite what others may think of it. It's my truck and I'll have it look in a way that pleases me. As for the other manufacturers, I will let the owners of those comment as I have no experience with them although I have heard a few (Banks, Gibson, and Magnaflow) on Titans and still prefer the sound of my Flowmaster. Do let your personal taste play a part in your selection. There are many who have enjoyed the Banks and it should be a strong candidate for consideration. This is a good price on it and I am all for supporting our sponsors that bring great deals to this site.

Yeah JT already has exhaust...but if it's free...he'll take it!! But it would be great..cause he'd do dyno's and all that stuff on it.

Companies like Gale Banks would benefit greatly from someone like JetTech on the forums if there product was great. He'd throw it on...dyno it...all that fun stuff and give us what he thinks...and you konw alot of us would follow him.

Anybody think it is worth it to have this thing installed at a muffler shop rather than DIY?

Looks kinda big/heavy to install on your back w/o a lift.

Naw...D.I.Y.!!!! It's just pipe. You and one other person should be able to do it with some normal hand tools. Maybe go to the autoparts store and pick up a catilyst of some sort (PB Blaster etc..) to help free up any rust on the bolts. Also, do what I'm gonna do and spend $30 at Walmart on some ramps to drive up on. When the kit comes in, my girlfriend and I are gonna put it on in the driveway. Our biggest obstacle should be the heat! She's just as pumped as I am. (she's into this stuff too...) There is no welding. I'm confident that if you have any sort of technical skill what-so-ever...you'll be fine!

And yeah Dale, by far one of the fastest buys I know I'VE seen up here. We're all very excited! I wished I lived closer to Atlanta so you could Dyno MINE for us!

I don't think you can get the tip with the monster exhaust (although if they could do the switch at the factory, that would be awesome) but I do believe it's something they make and can be bought separately. Some others on TitanTalk have switched to it to tone it down a little. Thanks for checking it out. Gale Banks Engineering is actually less than 3 miles from me. I wonder if they'd let me go over and pick it up.

I pulled the trigger at 8.59 am PST this morning - just under the wire! After my billet grill, this will be my first mod. I'm going out to PRG's site and get the 2" leveling kit today also. yup, patience is the hardest part. ever since i got this truck i cant stop thinkin about what i want to put on it next. Its like an addiction. Seriously, it sounds stupid, but i cant sleep cuz i keep thinking about that video with that awesome stainless steel exhaust running underneath my truck. Im going to want to just lie under there and look at it. Im way exited to put it on myself. Anyway, thanks alot jersey.

Me too! I've watched that clip from Jersey about 100 times! Also there have been many times where the only motivation for me to get out of bed is driving my truck. Some people just don't understand.

Yea well, it took a lot of work to get Banks to give some money up on this, and I will warn you guys now, These are HUGE boxes, and I don't know if it is UPS or some cosmic force, but they take a while to be delivered! usually 5 days or more to the east coast, and 3 to the west (even though they are in CA) and ROD_b will be the first to get his, because he is picking his up at GBE ( I will give you the details as soon as Jeff calls me and says it is ready rod)

The excuse I got from them, is they THOUGHT i was going to have them all shipped to me, and then I would ship them out, but I explained very clearly that all units would be Dropped shipped to make sure peeps got their exhaust quick! They still gave me a discount but a fraction of what they promised for 10 systems shipped in one day!
Customer Service is the only thing that seperates a Good store from a Bad one, and thye gave me BAD CS!

No kidding - you would think it would cost them more to ship 16 exhausts from CA to NJ as opposed to 7 from CA to CA :roll: , 2 from CA to WA, 1 from CA to NV, 1 from CA to AZ, 1 from CA to MI, 1 from CA to FL, 1 from CA to NC, and 1 from CA to UT (I know I missed 1 :P ).

They don't want to do all the work, they would rather ship me the units, and then let me ship them out (which would drive up cost, shipping twice!!)
and NO they are still shipping, I could not do that to you guys, I told them I have no choice but to accept what they give me at this point, and don't worry, I am loading up my Ammo!

Alright everyone, I just called Brian (our hero) at yournissanparts and he explained to me what was going on. All 17 exhaust orders have been processed and paid for. Banks told Brian that every exhaust that is to go out WILL have been shipped by Friday. Banks said that they were not supplying tracking numbers nor will they tell us when which exhaust is getting shipped. Bottom line...all shipped by Friday.
Soo...the waiting game continues, but now you know. Everyone be sure to thank Brian and appreciate the HUGE hit he took for us. He stood by his price even though Banks bent him over and *you know what*.

yeah this situation kinda sucks. oh well, not jersey's fault. Anyway, Before i found out about this group buy, i had called banks and talked to them, i talked to john there, and was asking him some technical questions about the exhaust. he told me he would send me the exhaust for 600 dollars to my door. I told him absolutly not, and to call me if he thought he could do better than that. In the mean time, i found this group buy on here and took advantage of it obviously. But he still had my number. Well, he called today, and asked if i had purchased one yet today, i told him that yes, through a group buy. I asked him if he could track it at all, and he said no, and he told me that i probably wouldnt have it for a while because he said "you guys" (refering to group buy people) usually get yours last. As for Banks, well it seems this Jeff guy has got a bug up the chute. I'm sure it's the same guy I talked to when I called last week asking about the 3.5" tip. When I asked him about it, he was agitated and asked "what vehicle are we talking about?" I said "it's for the Titan" while I was thinking "why does that matter?!" He said the Titan system comes with a 5" tip and I said "I know but I was interested in buying the smaller tip as a replacement" to which he replied "we don't make a 3.5" tip for the Titan system." I said "I know, I just need the part number if I wanted to order this through my Banks dealer." He replied with "we have one, it's $76 but it's not for the Titan exhaust system." I just said "ok fine" and hung up.

Well it turns out it's the same guy I need to deal with for the will call. I called him yesterday and he said "we just got the orders in the system and they're just making them now so call me tomorrow." So I called today and he says "just give me your number and I'll call you back." No call. He probably threw my number in the trash since he seems to have a real issues with this whole deal and anyone associated with it. Anyway I figured I'd give him until tomorrow so that's where we stand. It sucks when a company that makes great products has bad customer service. :(

That would suck - kinda like when you're dining at the fine 1.5-2 star establishment and you return your plate of food for any reason at all and then they take it to the back and abuse it something awful then return to you. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen.

Well, I went down to Banks. They basically own the whole street. It's a short street, cul-de-sac with most of the buildings having the Banks logo on them. Seems like a pretty large operation. The people at will call were very friendly. They asked me to pull the truck up and they loaded up the exhaust and off I went. My cheeks hurt from grinning all the way home. LOL! I took a few pics and will continue to do so during the install process. Unfortunatly, the finance manager (aka wife) had made plans for us to go out tonight with her family so I'll only be laying out the parts and taking inventory tonight. I do feel a touch of the Bank Flu coming on and may have to stay home tomorrow. I never thought I'd be so excited to see stainless steel tubing. LMAO!!!! Thanks again Brian for everything you did to make this happen.

To everyone else waiting for their exhaust...it's gonna be sooooo worth it.

It is very simple, If you have car ramps, it will be easier, but it is simply, unbolting the old exhaust (if rusted, this will be FUN) and bolting in the replacement pieces... and then setting everything perfect before fully tightening!

Well, it's Friday and they're all supposed to be shipped out by today. So the waiting game continues. I HATE this damn game too!!! I just ordered that grounding kit too and I'll be waiting for it as well! I love buying things for this truck...but with all of the debt and waiting frustration, I MAY loose my mind!!!

Got it today (delivered to my office) and just had a buddy install it...First reviews - great, throaty sound - I love it!...the "drone" that we hear about it a lot of hype...no "pack of B-29s"...the sound is there, but not too bad...just around 1700 rpms...Heck, just crank the tunes and you don't even hear it...

No more sneaking home at night, though...

I took off work early today to head out to the lake. Just after getting home, I heard the roar of the UPS truck. I think I scared the driver as I ran out of the house like a kid waiting for the ice cream truck to stop. I had a huge grin carrying the Banks into the garage.

I opened the box though and the end of the pipe on the y assembly part was bent. it wasnt round so it wouldnt fit into the muffler. I dont want to bother with sending it back, so i just decided to take a hammer to it and round it out. good as new. HEY JERSEY - Aren't these suppose to be brand new systems??!! I got mine today, just opened it and I'm really bummed out that my muffler has 2 big dents in it and the entire system appears to be USED!!! WTF!!!

The wholesale division is closed on saturday, so I have to wait till monday, But i will get that rectified!

Mine was waiting for me when I got home from work. The box has at least 4 holes from the exhaust punching through during shipping, one I can stick my fist through. I have not had time to inspect for damage so I'll check it over tonight. It is surprising the lack of packaging in the box, just 2 grey foam things on top. I hope it is ok.

It's installed and sounds great! I wasn't super happy with the fit of the system, but after some tweaking, I got it to fit okay.

Here's a tip: put oil on the pipes going into the muffler. It will help to get them slid all the way in. Also, you may need to use a jack under the section of pipe before the muffler in order for the section after the muffler to line up and for it's hanger to reach the hanger hardware.

I should have a full write-up on my website by the end of the weekend. The whole install took me about 3 hours, but I was fighting with the muffler section for a bit. Knowing what I know now, it should only take 2 hours or so.

Again, despite the fitment issues, the sound is awesome. I can't really comment on the power since I only have 500 miles on my Titan (which made getting the stock exhaust out much easier :P ). I did the snorkelectomy on my intake the other day and really didn't hear anything, but after the exhaust I can actually hear the intake sucking away at WOT. :D

I just got mine installed too, and it sounds awesome. it only took me about an hour and a half, and that is because i had to fight a little with the muffler section too. Mine gave me a hard time because the pipe was bent a little and it wasnt perfectly round. It sounds great though im happy, its a little louder than i thought it was gonna be, but i like it. Also there is a little of a drone right around 1700 rpm, but its kinda nice, and not too obnoxious. I also thought the tip was going to look too big, but it looks great in contrast with the hugeness of the titan.

Mine is in! I hope you dont think less of me but I let some Pros down at NorCal Muffler in Manteca install it. They were done in about an hour. If I had to do it, it would have had to wait cuz the family has a full schedule for me this weekend. But I have to give props to them especially Jason. They did a great job. They even threw on a small spot weld on the base of the tip so it would be harder to lose or steal! A couple of things. They guys couldnt believe the size of the kit. His qoute" Is this thing for a diesel?" LOL He said it was a nice kit and they usually work on domestic brands but was really impressed with the Titan. After it was on the lift he kept saying this is a really nice truck. :D
When I started the truck a guy waiting for his ride said " Man that truck sounds real good!" NICE....on the drive home I really paid attention to the sound. The drone is about the same as stock at 1900 RPMs so no big but when you step on it it really roars to life. I am really happy with the sound and kit quality. This is exactly the deep throaty but tuned sound I was looking for. When I got home my Wife said "I almost thought it was too quiet until you stepped on it, Its sounds great and not annoying at all." That why I married her!!!!

I knew you all would be happy with the exhaust, and I am glad some you had a chance to install it, SACTO I will get your hookep up monday, and then you too can BRAG about install!!! LOL!

Hey Jersey - FUHGETABOUTIT!! As I mentioned to you, my buddy who has a trained eye, said the system is new, just a little dirty and the dents in the muffler most likely happened in transit. I just can't go through the torture anymore - I have the banks right here and I can hear my titan BEGGING for it - I'm going to slap it on today!!

This is the one part of the install that irked me the most. I had to jack up the exhaust in order for the hanger behind the muffler to reach the frame. After doing that, the plate in front of the muffler looks like this. I'm a little concerned about vibration from the rod resting on the plate, but we'll see. And this isn't from the jacking per se. This is how the plate has to be in order for the hanger behind the muffler to reach the frame.

Also, I think the bends in the pipe or the lengths of pipe themselves may have been off a little bit. The tailpipe seems to hang a little low to me. Maybe it's normal though.?

I had no choice. The pipe before the muffler was not level and was pointing on a downward angle. After putting the muffler on, it made it slightly worse. Once I put the pipe on behind the muffler, there was no way for the hanger to reach up to the frame without pushing the whole assembly up, which in turn bent the plate.

There are only a few parts to the system so I don't know what could have been wrong. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking the bend right before the Y pipe was not made correctly. :(

I would guess the Hangar is too long before i would say the pipes are bent incorrectly... I just didn't have this problem.... it is very strange!

Egan - I had to flip the plate so the bracket is on top. Just has to it was still facing front (has more rubber to grab the arm).

However - I noticed that the tip touches the quarterpanel - is that ok? I'm thinking because it gets so hot it'll warp it or ruin the paint - anyone else have that problem - see pics.

The Banks got installed yesterday afternoon with the help of my nephews Ryan and Sean (who is also a Titan owner). It only took us about two hours because they had already did the install on Sean's Titan.

Got mine on tonight in 1 1/2 hours pretty good grease monkey. I love the sound I think i lost a little low end torque but gain in mid and upper end hp. Hope to cure the low end torque loss with the volant. Very happy with quality and fit. Great looking to.

Well, the Banks is sweet and I'm loving the wonderful tuned tone it gives off. Kelly and I have burned SO much gas just going around reving and driving the dog piss out of it! It's GREAT! I hope you all are enjoying it as much as we are. Now, I'm ready for that new Volant to supply the air!!!

Well I finally installed the Banks Monster! I was missing one of three inch clamps and tring to find one on Sunday evening was a real chore!

This system sounds GREAT! I feel like I'm riding in my 1968 442. Drone what Drone! That's what the exhaust is going to sound like it. I love it! More Drone LOL! :devil:

I also put the Active Tuning Cables on. The biggest different I have found is that the radio is much loader! Thanks again Brian!

hey guys I might be in on this too, but I'm concerned about the sound. I really dont want it too be too loud can anyone post a clip? the $$ isnt a prob. I just dont want complaints from the wifey.
