Thinking of buying the BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2. Anyone have any reviews on these and how do they ride on the highway?

I've got these on my Jeep (35's) and LOVE them. Not too loud on the highway, and dig like crazy in the mud. When I get another set though it's going to be the AT's. It depends on how you're going to use it. If you're going to be more highway, snow, or sand, go with the AT's. If you're going mudding, get the MT's

My brother has a set of them on his Titan (06 LE 4X4) and he went with the factory size and likes them. They ride well and don't make much noise on the highway. I am running BFG All-terrains on my Titan and the ride is similar, maybe a bit rougher with the mud terrains but not by much.
His tires also seem to be holding up fairly well.

I was going to get the BFG MT KM2 in 305/60/18 but I just looked up the specs and the min. Rim width is 8.5. My stock rims are 8.0. Can I still use them without a problem? Tire Rack says no!

There are a few great videos on our site if you are interested. They do a really good job of showing this tire in action. Check them out.

Tire Rack says no!I run Toyo M/Ts, in a size that is approved only for a rim 1/2" wider than my OR rims, and haven't had any issues. I would think you'd be fine with 305 on an 8" rim. You might lose a bit of the maximum load range, at maximum psi, but you will never want near that amount of load on your Titan.

Probably the worst thing about running too wide of a tire is that if you run them all the time at very high psi levels, you can get more center wear. But psi levels only need to be increased in a light truck tire when you're hauling a large load, not for every day use. More sidewall flex is another potential issue, particularly with the taller side walls, and especially if the tire has only two plys in the sidewall. But I wouldn't worry about running a 305 on the 8s, even if it was a 35", and only a two ply.

Personally I wouldn't go with a 325 on OEM 18s, (although many do), especially in a 2-ply sidewall tire ... but the BFG KM2 and KO A/T, as well at all the Toyo M/Ts and some Toyo A/Ts have 3-Ply sidewalls. Haven't tried the KM2, but I would probably pick it over the Toyo M/T next time, (if I was going for a MT again), because it is a lot lighter than the Toyo, and less expensive too.

Tires are designed to flex in certain areas of the shoulder, when you pinch or stretch a tire on a wheel that is too narrow or too wide you force the tire to flex in areas where it is not deigned to do so. This makes the tire hold more heat and heat (a tires worst enemy) breaks the tire down faster which can result in a shorter life and higher chance for failure.

***Also every major brand tire is covered by a manufacturer's warranty for workmanship and manufacture defect. This warranty is void if the tire is mounted on a wheel outside the tire manufacturer’s recommendations.***

Thanks for all the help. I dont think it would be worth it to go with the BFG MT, so I am considering the Toyo MT in 275/70/18. Do you think I will have any rubbing problems. I have front leveled 2".

if you're still looking for an MT tire, have you looked at the firestone destination mt?? VERY nice tire and will last a long time

No issues. That size is 33.6" diameter, which would be perfect for a leveled Titan.

I had older BFG MTs on my old frontier only concern for me is that they perform MUCH better in the rain... they lasted miles and gripped good in mud. but were HORRIBLE in the rain. my frontier was the 3.3L and only had a K&N fipk auto 4x4 crew cab, it was a slug, but when it was raining that thing would slide azzended all over the place. it was pretty much dangerous when pulling out on a wet hill from a stop. I would NEVER want something like that on my T, I can crack the tail loose dry with the toyo MT 35"s but I have to "try" when wet they can crack loose while moving in 3rd and semi heavy downshift to 2nd as when accelerating enough for the truck to drop a gear but it's more power than anything else I think. and I have pretty worn MTs now compared to when the BFGs were new they were like that til I sold the truck at like 14,000miles after getting the BFG MTs
