[2005 Titan SE Dash Kit Question?

Why has no one mae a Dash Kit for the 2005 Titan SE?? Just bought a Kenwood headunit and didnt find out until after that local stores dont know of a dash kit that fits.

Anyone know how to get past this problem? Does someone have a dash kit I havent found? Or is there something else that can be done?

Do you have the 6 disc cd changer bezel or the base line bezel?

I believe that the SE comes standard with the 6 disc changer. If you buy the Metra kit, you'll also need to get the factory bezel from the XE model to replace the incorporated controls for the CD changer.
With the scosche kit, you get everything you need for the install, BUT. . .
-You have to remove the clips from the factory bezel to attach the scosche bezel.
-The scosche bezel relocates the hazard switch, airbag light, and aux plug. This rearrangement requires a little creative cutting behind the dash otherwise the hazard light switch prevents everything from going back together properly. I also really don't get why scosche chose to incorporate the aux plug. After removing the factory stereo the plug is useless.

In my opinion the metra kit with the stock XE bezel is the better option. It costs a bit more, but I think its a better looking install. The scosche kit does however work and looks quite acceptable. You can see pics at this post:

Eventually I plan to swap out the scosche kit for the metra/xe bezel combination and get my knobs back to where Nissan intended.

Ive only seen people use the 04 XE bezel which has the dimples in it. Would an 05 xe bezel work? cheers - Chris

TITAN57- Thanks for that METRA link Ive been looking for the right kit for a while and no dice until now.

I believe that the SE comes standard with the 6 disc changer.

Depends on the package you get. Mine didn't

Heres the set-up I just got. I bought the METRA 99-7405 from Ultimate Electronics (for the titan not generic nissans) for $15 it comes with the pocket underneath the single din deck. No other electronic stores had it. Then I bought the 04 XE bezel from my dealer for $45, they have it listed at $63 but I told him about courtesynissanparts price of $42 and they came down a bit. Cheers- Chris

I am looking at a Kenwood. Are you running factory speakers and how does it sound?

I was just talking about the bezel and metra kit only. I just bought those and dropped off my truck at my audio guy. Im having my system put in, should be done either tomorrow or thursday at the latest. I am putting in the Kenwood KDC-X969 that I had in my Tahoe, I love this deck. So I cant tell you how it sounds yet. Im having Diamond Audio speakers, an Orion amp for speakers and a JBL amp for my 2 10" Focal woofers. Ill put up a new thread with a little review and pics of everything shortly. Later - Chris

Do you know where you can get a wiring harness to save some time with the wiring? I have the XE bezel and the metra install kit but I was wanting to find the wiring harness to eliminate wiring hassle.

I know crutchfield has them. But I would call up your local ultimate electronics (they were only ones with the metra kit) or other electronic stores and ask them to check if they have it. That way you save on shipping and can pick it up immediately. Try a search maybe something will come up on it. Goodluck- Chris
