do any of you know how much back space the stock wheels (18"/ 8" 5 spoke) have because im wondering if they will work with the cst kit, it requires 5" of back space

i'm interested in the same lift kit, 8inch cst for 2wd. i never thought of the backspacing for the stock wheel. i would love to keep my 5spoke oem charcole wheels. it'll be shame to get rid of those.

heres a little treat to wet your appetite till you get your lift  (also...the stock wheels will work with the kit so no probs there)

so to confirm that the stock oem wheels will fit no problem with the 8inch cst lift, what about the procomp 6inch?

not sure on the pro-comp 6". But i had to use the stock tires on the truck for a day untill i could get the alignment done after installing the 8" CST kit you see above. The shop i used didnt have a machine that could accept the aftermarket wheels/tires and do the alignment.

i recently called a local shop in my area and they told me that the stock rims will work with the stock tires but wont if you try to put on 35s is that true?

depends on the width of the tire you choose. The dealership i used to work for would use an 18x8 wheel with a thinner 35" tire then what i chose. I believe the stock 18's are 8inch wide.

Hey Gavenger, how retarded did it look with the original wheels and the 8" lift? Just debating if I could lift it, wait for more money, then get bigger tires. Just wanted to hear your opinion. The lift looks awesome by the way.

you could get away with it, it didnt look to bad, they just look thin after the lift. The design of the Titan kinda absorbs most of the look of the lift. So yeah youll be fine with the stock tires and not lookin to funny.

Now that you have had the lift for a while, any feed back? Im looking into the same lift.

I'm starting to have driveline issues but i havent pin-pointed the exact cause yet. I got a new rear-axle warrantied which solved 1 noise, but im still experiencing another noise during towing that doesnt sound normal. It kinda sounds like theres gunk in a driveline bearing or so, a very light friction sound, but only when i let off the gas or go downhill and the trailer puts weight onto the truck as it pushes on it. Very Confusing. Other then that...DEFINATELY upgrade to the larger Fox style coil-overs as apposed to using the spacers that come with the kit for the stock front shocks.

Ill keep you informed on the driveline issue.

the stock 18s have a wheel offset of +25mm and this term is common in the car world. it's all about backspacing when you talk about trucks! offset is the distance from the wheel hub to the wheel's centerline (widthwise). backspacing is the distance from the same wheel hub but all the way to the rear lip of the wheel; or positive offset plus half of the rim width. in this case 25mm plus 4" is 5" of backspacing because 25mm is 1". cst recommends 8" wide rims with 5" of backspacing. i should be ok to put 35s on the stocks as i have seen several lifted trucks with oem wheels and offroad tires.
