Checking interest in campin at Lake Raystown for the weekend of Aug 21-23. This would be 2 weeks after the Carlisle Truck nationals. Here is a website about the area. http://raystown.nab.usace.army.mil/

Have you checked to see if there are sites available at the campground for that weekend?

They do a lottery selection... campsites are always availiable but not prime sites like on the water

I have always gotten a water site when I went there, but I always reserve well in advance. I will check later and see if any are available.

^^^Yeah I saw that this morning... Have you ever noticed that picking dates is a tough decision? Well I dont want to step on anyone elses toes and smash plans... So If any weekend that anyone wants to go camping pop it up here and we can all see who can attend. I have a little bit of vacation time left if it doesnt fall on my scheduled time off.

It doesn't matter to me, that date can be changed, just making you aware... There hasn't been much interest in the offroading anyway, everyone is a bunch of sissy's I guess.

you can include me in the sissy group... its not the offroading its the drive to get to the offroading... If raystown doesnt get any hits with any weeks I might just jump on the offroading bandwagon. my brother lives up thatway so i can make it a 2 for 1 deal.

I just checked Seven Points, and there is not 1 available water site, to be honest, I am really not that interested in going without one. If you know the area, are there any other campgrounds besides the corps of engineers (Seven Points) that has waterfront sites?

I am not sure the last time you were there but they now have a camping area called senoia. It has water front sites also. I might be able to cruise up there this weekend and see what are some good sites and then check into reserving one or 2 for the weekend.

Its been a few years, in fact I don't even remember what area we were in! That would be great if you could get some water sites, I will pay for it weather we make this happen or not!

there is also a camp ground where my family has a permanant site. its at the top of piney ridge road. its lake raystown family camp ground. from there your only minutes away from 7 points marina. 20 mins from raystown resorts. im not sure what you guys had intentions of doing. Im not sure how much they are anymore and if they even have tent sites anymore. worth a shot? its fright past bk on left hand side, the hill goes straight up haha. and very curvy.
