I have an '05 LE Titan with the AUX input in the dash. Can y'all tell me about some of your iPod installs?
Question 1:
From reading other posts, sounds like an amplifier may be called for. The Belkin Auto Kit appears to have this. For those who have it, am I reading the description correctly that the dock connector has the 3.5mm audio OUT jack? So the 3.5mm male-to-male cable would plug into the Belkin's dock connector as opposed to the 3.5mm jack on the iPod itself?
Question 2:
Belkin has a cradle that fits into a cup holder. Anyone using that and happy with it? Anyone else have another iPod mounting bracket? I'd love to see some pics if avail.
Question 3:
I believe the Belkin 3.5mm plug is 6'. I'd like a shorter one so I can keep it clean and have to stash less cable. Any sources on a good one?

Honestly, if you want to use the aux plug for the iPod, I never needed any type of amp. Just a mini stereo plug from the headphone jack to the aux plug worked fine. If you already have a case for the iPod, just drop it in the cup holder and it rides pretty snug.
Monster also makes a charger for the iPod that has a line-level output built in, that way you don't have to worry about the iPod volume. I got one for $20 at CompUSA. Again, mini stereo plug from charger to aux plug, no amp needed.
If your looking at the kits that have the mounting brackets and all, sorry but I never tried any. I have a nice padded case (http://www.marware.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/Marware.woa/3/wa/selectedCategory?catalogCatID=164&wosid=eqSiBxp1SKLxteFaXb9QXM) for my iPod which made riding in the cup holder ideal.
I changed out the factory stereo, so the aux plug was not an option any more. I just bought an Alpine head unit and their iPod interface kit. Now I have a docking plug in the glove box that charges the iPod and can access my playlists from the head unit.

I went to Radioshack and found this mount and it works perfectly for me. I have a 4X2 and don't have the controls in the circle where I mounted it, so my iPod was born to fit in that spot.
Here's some pictures.....
I have not needed an amp either with the iPod. So far I just let the iPod live in one of the console bins when I'm using it. That way I pull the aux cable out and hide the whole unit when I'm not using the iPod.

I have another aux input, coming from my DVD control Unit. Ran a cable all the way to the overhead console and made a plug. Th MP3 is velcroed to the center console.
