Is anyone else cleaning/oiling their filters a lot sooner than 12k miles as Volant recommends? It seems that the filter is drying out around every 6k. I understand that the oil is a lot thinner than other brands but heck, what a pain in the A$$! Has anyone found a K&N replacement that would fit the Volant CAI?

I experienced the same problem. The only thing i know to say is keep oiling as needed. The parts on these filters and intakes arn't ususally compatible; at least what i've seen of them. U need to keep a good seal what ever you do, moisture and dirt can really foul an engine up bad.
How much power you getting off of your intake anyway?

Its hard to tell how much power im actually getting directly from the intake... I did not do a dyno run stock, so I won't know....

Hi goose, another option is to oil it with the K&N oil. I know this may not be a popular suggestion but I did it to mine about 6 months ago and it's still hanging in there. I have no oily residue in the intake tube nor do I have any MAF sensor problems. Just a suggestion.....
