It is a new Titan forum that was started in June. I don't want to sound like an advertisement here to take anyone away from the Club, because so far the Club and the Spot have gotten along very well and I don't want to jeopardize that. I just think we may be able to increase the group buy visibility a little more by posting a link to it there.

Improved Mileage
Reduced Emissions

How so?

I may be in, but things are really tight right now money wise.

This is best explained in our product description:

"This creates variations in the voltage at these points. When a sensor sends information to the computer, the computer in return sends out a signal to make the necessary adjustments to other components. However, if there is a slight variation in the voltage or loss of current flow, the computer will not compensate correctly and this can cause a loss of efficiency."

If the ECU can work more efficiently, it can adjust the amount of fuel needed better, sometimes resulting in higher MPG. But more importantly we've seen it from customer experience.

The truth is somewhere in between I imagine.

I always love these before and after dynos. Do one dyno before and one after and draw conclusions from it. I like to see more than just a single data point before declaring success!!

I definitely agree with that. I honestly would not expect any noticeable power gains (you may get a couple hp...but that's something you prob. wouldn't feel). Normally on a grounding kit the most noticeable all around improvements are found on older cars. Although note that when we installed on our project Titan when we were doing the prototyping, we felt it was the most responsive new car we've tested in terms of results with the kit.

Any HP or MPG increase would just be extra goodies for me. I just want my truck to idle smoothly. I've had the dealer check it out for the evap canister TSB and they swear that isn't my problem. Heck they even deny there is a ticking sound from my engine. So after reading a bunch of grouding threads on TT, I believe that this is definitely my next step to help my engine.

Unfortunately needs to be people once the GB was announced. At this rate it looks like it won't be any problem hitting the mark. We are now at 14 and it's only the first day, more than halfway there! 1 more for stage 4 pricing, and 11 more for best pricing!

But I don't know how to read.....you'll have to hold my hand through this one!!! LoL

Rossi, the trick to reading is stop talking, typing even listening. Just point to each word and repeat it in you mind. If that doesn't work, write the word down and keep repeating the process until it sinks in.
ON second thought call one of us and someone will help fill it out for you. Then all you'll have to do is throw money at the problem, just like the government does.

Welcome fellow Nissan-owner! My truck is Silver, but I painted the engine cover blue/silver and my Amp power wires are blue, so I'm sticking with the Blue theme under the hood.

And AT, I'm PUMPED about seeing that grill. PuhLEASE show the pics as soon as you can so we can continue to go broke up here! If it's as hot as soon as you claim it to be, there may be enough folks interested to consider the GB option. As we have proved so far...we are some buying mo-fo's up here!!!

btw .. maybe a real dumb inquiry .. but this also fits an '05 Armada, right??

It does :)

Thanks!

Install pics?? Anyone??

hey there inqui-Z-tor there is a thread or two in the the exterior mods of the install. Really not much of the kit is seen. Most of it is under the engine block, but there are two wires you will see on top, but only small portions of them. This is more for function then looks. But you could choose a color scheme you are into, and start with this, and wire loom other wires and hoses to match if that is what you are going for.

hi jaysplaypen .. that is exactly the intent, but since I haven't done any mods in the engine compartment, I figured this would be a good place to start .. I'll browse through the exterior mods section to see the pics .. thanks!

Just wanted to post an update to you guys. Unfortunately the terminals didn't arrive on Friday, so hopefully they will be here tomorrow. If they do, Tuesday kits will start shipping out. Keep in mind though that these are hand-made, and do take some time....so not everybody's will ship out right away (especially since we weren't planning to ship until after the GB deadline)...so please bare with us, we will ship in the order that the kits were paid for. You will receive an e-mail from us with a USPS delivery confirmation # as soon as it ships out.

If you guys have any questions, please let me know!

Just for kicks, we would love to see the total, then people will also know how long they have to wait for shipping order. We just love to see what a good group we are sometimes. At least tell us how many the club has brought you. I think we are at 34 right now, but hard to tell some times.

I am so glad this deal worked out for you and us, thanks for the great group buy.

Got mine installed as well.
This is a mod I probably would not have done without the references from fellow CT members.
The quality of the product is first class. The quick delivery is appreciated.
The install went well, but would make two constructive comments.
1. The 22" wire with the large 8mm connector should be noted as the driver fender connector. Picture attached below. I also ran the cable behind the mounting bracket and fit very well.
2. The 24" cable can be connected to the heat shield instead of mounting it to the undercarrage.

I am very pleased with everything your company did for us and will recommend this mod to anyone. The upgrading of the electrical system has to help in all the areas you mention.
Thanks again.

Well, it's on and without too many problems. What problems there were are due to my dorkiness (e.g., plastic cowl retainer flipped up and into the engine compartment. Had fun locating and retrieving that one, doh!!!)

Can't say that I notice any difference in anything at this point. I didn't have the "tick" and it has always been a ready starter, so. . . . . I didn't expect that to change. But I like the idea of additional/better grounding, it can't hurt.

For $40 shipped, it was a great excuse to fiddle with the Titan and drink a beer!

Got mine installed with only minor problems:
1. The bolt under the plastic cowling for the first cable is very soft metal. When I tried to tighten it, it wouldn't tighten. When I removed it again, the threads were GONE! Had to drill that hole and use a nut and bolt.
2. The wire that connects to the sidewall didn't have a big enough ring terminal for the bolt. I had to drill the ring terminal to make the bolt fit. I think M4ck had the same problem?

On the plus side, with this kit installed, I can slam my subs extremely hard WITH NO LIGHT DIMMING! Much cheaper than a cap or a new battery. Thanks Active Tuning!

Two of my cables had different size terminals on each end. I didn't notice until I went to put them on that they had to be put on a certain way because the bolts were different sizes.

Got it installed this afternoon, took about 1hr. My dumb *** installed the wrong wire and came up 1" short to the tranny bracket, so i ended up switching wires lol...Note i installed cable for alternator from the bracket below the battery tray first then down to the alternator, was much easier than going up from the alternator. I didnt notice much yet except maybe shift from 1st to 2nd a tad stronger. All in all this is a good strong ground for the titan. Here's a quick pic...

Yeah! I got blue as well and FINALLY put it on today. All the wires were a cinch except for the alternator one. It's MEGA hot here and I waited for the sun to go behind the trees, but the humidity is still WAYYY up there...so F*** going in the wheel well and getting all nasty in there. Listen...Lay on a towel or blanket, or creeper if you have one...lay with your feet facing rear so you're parallel to the truck and just slide under there. Just shy of the factory skid plate to the passenger side are several LARGE openings to which you can gain access to the alternator. It was PIE from there!

My kit is BEAUTIFUL under the hood too. It mathes my engine cover nicely. Kelly and I rode around for over an hour driving (listening to the Banks) and the only place I've noticed a change is in the shifting. I feel that the shifting is quicker and more precise...w/o hesitation. There is no ROUGH or hard shift...just quick! Thanks AT!!!!!

Ok guys, just finished the rest of the orders! Everything is being dropped off at the post office in about an hour! For those that have not ordered but still want to, there's still a few hours left in the GB. No exceptions will be made to get the GB pricing after it's over, but the kits will still be $49.99 shipped which is a great deal in the first place :)

Well I installed just now. I have to say that was the easiest mod I have done yet, it took maybe a half hour start to finish. I used the same method NKTITAN711 used which made all the cables easy to install. Active Tunning should update the install to this method. I will have to drive it awhile to see if I notice any improvements. Overall the kit was well made and had all the needed parts.

2WD should have: 24" 24" 22" 20"
4WD should have: 24" 22" 20" 8"

Basically if you have a 2WD and have a really short wire, let me know. If you have a 4WD, and you're missing a really short wire, let me know. I don't think that very many got mixed up, and Baja/Rossi may have been the only ones.

Well...finished the install today. Install was fairly simple, although sticking my hands in tight spots wasn't fun.

Afterwards my wife and I had some errands to do. Both of us remarked how the transmission felt smoothier in between shifts. I noticed that the "jolt", for lack of a better word, was almost nonexistant between gears....a la CVT. I hope to see more benefits of the kit, like improved gas mileage, and improved electronics performance. All in all, worth the $40.00. I will try and get some photos of the nifty blue wires in the engine bay soon.

Installed last night...

However, yesterday I was coming home from work and there is a 7%-8% grade down hill for about 4 miles. When I stepped on the brakes my truck down shifted from Drive (5th) to (3rd) and would not shift back up until I took the transmission out of drive and put it in 4th manually.

Maybe this will fix the problem? I have an appointment with the service tech Friday. We will see what is said.

Jackalope...what you describe is completely normal for our trannies. It's some sort of 'grade-logic' that downshifts the tranny any time the truck's speed is increasing with no throttle applied...in other words, the TCM senses when you're going downhill, and downshifts automatically. I thought it was wierd, at first, but have grown to like it...keeps me from having to apply the brakes constantly while going downhill. If you bump the throttle when it does this, the tranny will upshift.

Doing a lot of car audio installations and judging both car shows and sound offs I always look for clean and SAFE installations. The AT Grounding Kit wire and termination is quality work...but there's just something about leaving wire exposed within the engine compartment. I highly recommend looming and protecting your wires. I understand people like to show off wiring and that is their preference. But you can dress up your engine compartment, increase performance, and no safety of wiring is compromised. Before installing the kit...I kind of modified each strip of wire. Now note I kept mine simple. I just picked any color of the AT kit, it didn't matter b/c it was going to get covered. I've kept everything simple and black.

Materials:
Black Tech-Flex Loom - 3 to 5X better than split loom and come in multiple colors. It all depends on what brand and grade of flex loom you get. A lot of car audio competitors and tuners use nothing less than this. The only issue with this stuff not many electronics stores carry it and it's a lil' pricey for just a little woven plastic weave.

Black Heatshrink - 3/4 to 5/8 should do. Again you can get in multiple colors to dress up your engine compartment. I kept mine simple with the standard black.

Torch - used for the Heatshrink

Camera - so I can take pics for you folks, not great pics but pics nonetheless.

Time...b/w 8-10 mins max. I think it looks good. Just imagine getting the flex loom the same color as your custom painted engine cover. Just a suggestion.

Just got the grounding kit installed.....thanks NKTITAN711 for the tip on installing the alternator wire from underneath.

This is a quality kit. Sure, anyone could make their own kit pretty easily with minimal expense....but why? For $39/shipped....it's more than worth it to me.

Haven't had any drive-time yet to give any opinion, but will do so later. Honestly, just the piece of mind in knowing the somewhat high ground resistances found have been eliminated makes the kit worth it.

For those who missed out on this...I would hope there will be another GB offered on this kit, either here or on another forum...based on how popular this GB was.

Actually, I purchased a set for my 4WD quite some time ago and did not get the 8" transmission cable. I sent an e-mail in about this issue, but never heard back.

Given the quality of the cables and the speed at which they were originally shipped, I was surprised that no one got back to me when there was a problem.

I did a full write up with photos of the install here: http://clubtitan.org/postt5752.html
I wonder if the fact that my post was lukewarm about the effects I noticed from the install had anything to do with the fact that I received no response or corrected cable?
