Renegade45 11-30-2009, 07:24 PM Truthfully, most aftermarket brake pads are garbage. I too have paid good money for the supposley best cermanic brakes. Did not stop as well and lots of dust. Going back to factory was the best thing I could have done.
Blue_Water_Rush 12-02-2009, 06:20 PM The EBC brake pads I installed are excellent. I have the Yellowstuff (kevlar glass fiber compound) on the fronts and the Greenstuff (synthetic glass aramid fiber compound) on the rears. The grip and even-ness of the braking is way better than the stock pads. The Greenstuff pads boast 90% reduction in dust. The Kevlar pads produce a little more dust than the rears but still way less than the stock pads. Price-wise they are close to what you'd pay for good quality ceramic pads. I paid $105 for the fronts and $67 for the rears.
TitanJuggs 04-26-2010, 02:21 AM christenayuca, are you talking about the ebc pads you won?? they were yellowstuff right?
i need to replace my pads soon and am trying to figure out the best ones....
gweasel77 04-26-2010, 10:59 AM I just replaced my rear brake pad's yesterday w/ C-Maxes. I've had them on the front too for a few months w/ no problem's. Definitely better then the stock ones! Brake dust is pretty minimal. I've heard other people say that they didn't have much lucky w/ them, but they work great on my T. :)
Next time they need replaced i'm going to upgrade my rotor's & do EBC pad's.
float_test 04-26-2010, 12:37 PM Just replaced front pads yesterday also (ThermoQuiet #QC1063). You have to grind the nipples off these pads before you install them, we couldnt figure out why the brakes were worse after the new install now we know. If it wasnt for Papa_D's friend i would have never known. Heck i would returned the pads and still be on the oem ones...lol
Got 200 miles on them already and bout threw myself through the windshield, we will see how they hold up though.

Yeah I won them it’s the yellow ones, they are still garbage and leaving allot of dust I cant wait to replace them just for the fact of the really bad dust i have over 10,000m now and there still bad
o-fivecc 04-26-2010, 09:16 PM I have the Duralast C-Max as well on the front and new OEM's on the rear. The front leaves a lot more dust, but I just figured thats because the front does most of the braking. They seem to work great for me....I've wondered about those greenstuff and yellowstuff pads LOL
TitanJuggs 04-26-2010, 09:41 PM well the ebc website says the yellowstuff is not a low dust pad....designed more for racing with really good grip. is it just the dust that bothers you or is the grip not that great? i'm thinking of using hawk pads
gweasel77 04-27-2010, 12:16 PM I've had great luck w/ the C-max's so far. Had the front ones on for about 3 month's & they don't put off much dust. I WASH MY T ONCE A WEEK THOUGH. When i installed the rear C-Max's, i had originally bought the DL "Gold" pad's. No local Autozone had an install kit (w/ the metal strip's the pad's sit on) for a Titan. So, i exchanged them for the C-Max's (which come w/ an install kit). In the end i'm happy i did!
I never got around to taking off the right rear rotor to see what's up w/ my parking brake, just replaced the pad's. So, i'm rolling w/o an e-brake for now. oh...well. By the time i need new pad's again i'll be ready to upgrade to some performance slotted rotor's & maybe a Big Brake Kit for the front.
The right rear brake pad's were down to the metal just about. Must have been from doing the one-wheel peel, before the TT was installed. LOL

The dust to stopping power is out of wack!!!
this is only about 2 1/2 weeks

Crap......i forgot to take pics Chris sry man! It was simple but a PIA. Its a two man job.....basically on mine it was the cable end that slipped out of a clip so to speak its hard to explain but getting the spring back on was what caused the cursing...lol.....i thank Randy for that one too!
gweasel77 04-28-2010, 03:33 PM That's what i figured it was. Sounded just like it slipped out & pulled back, because of the spring when it happened. Nothing serious. I don't tow, so i should be good till i get around to opening it up again.
WOW!!! Look at that brake dust!!! Those are "Yellow Stuff Pad's doing that??? :3d_049:
TitanJuggs 04-29-2010, 07:33 PM damn that is a lot of dust lol
btw..not to hijack....but what are you guys talking about parking brake problem? mine popped real loud the other day (like it broke a cable or something), followed it back and the cable is good all the way to the y, and both cables engage when you press the pedal but only 1 will retract properly. i haven't opened the drums yet to check it out (cause i hate dealing with drum setups)....is it common for the cables to slip off or something?
btw i did search when it happened but didn't find anything other than pedal adjustment threads
gweasel77 04-30-2010, 10:55 AM Sound's like you have the same problem i do. Parking brake shoes might be worn out or the cable has popped off inside the drum.

Huh? That's no more or less dust than what the stock pad make....and that's aftere 2.5 weeks? That's not bad at all. After that long, most any pad will darken the wheels. If they stop better, then I'd just wash the truck more often and call it a day. If not, try another pad. It's been my experience and I know there's new stuff all the time) that those pads that claim no or very low dust tend to be hard on the rotors and warp them faster. I just put the green EBC pads and new rotors all around on the wifes 05 Quest so we'll see how they work out. So far they stop much smoother and I haven't really paid too much attention to the dust.
