:duh::duh:My '04 titan has done this twice in the 5 years I have owned here. 33K miles.
The brake light comes on when this happens and stays on. If you shut it down , the light goes off and it brakes properly. Pads , rotors, everything is in good shape.
You get a violent shutter in the front brakes , appears like the ABS is coming on during normal and easy stops.
Very scarry.
Help

Check your brake fluid. May be something as simple as low fluid.. however sounds a bit more serious.

Who knows.. check that, if good, hopefully someone with experince with this issue will post up.

I know my brake lights came on and stayed on after a little driving due to low fluid..once I filled it up, it was all norm again.

Brake fluids OK. Light just comes on when it shutters violently like front ABS is activated. If I shut it off and restart the engine light is off an everything is good , no brake light. Until the next time it does it.... 1 month, 6 months 1 year whenever it wants to???

Hmm I remember something like this...

Ummm IIRC, it may have something to do with a pinched brake sensor (ABS sensor by the brake)..if it's somehow connecting it may enagage or act funny.

Maybe check the wires by each brake and see if any are pinched or exposed..

Could this be in any way shape or form be the dreaded Brake Judder problem that plagued the early year models?

My '04 is having the same problem from time to time...a quick shut down then restart solves the problem until it happens again.

Just talked to my dealer, wants $100 to reprogram the computer. He says this may work if not I have to replace the booster for about 1K.
I think this should be a saftey issue resolved by Nissan , like the Toyota gas petal issue!!!

This happened to the wifes Mada. It was scarry as hell, like something was about to fall off the truck. Took it to Nissan once and they reprogrammed something. 2 months later same thing. Turn truck off and it resets. Took it in again and I don't remember what they did. Let me look at the paperwork and see if it says anything. I'll post up what I find tomorrow.

What about the wheel hub assemblies?
