: Replacing Stock Speakers

I have a 2005 KC SE w/o RF. I'm looking to replace the stock speakers all the way around. I was told by a salesguy that the Titans run on some sort of continuous circuit and that I would need to re-wire all of the speakers or replace the head unit.

Anybody know what this guy is talking about and if it is true or not?

Thanks

All I can say is I tried replacing just the speakers &
it sounded worse than with the stock speakers. If I remember
correctly they are 2 ohm speakers.
Changing the HU did more good than changing the speakers.

I've heard one system with a good head unit replacement and it sounded a lot better than stock (could it have sounded any worse to begin with?) Speakers were stock.

I'd go with the head unit first. replacing the component speakers with better component speakers will also sound much better than coax replacements. They make component speakers that fit with the stock grills.

I plan on doing this, if I could just muster up the cash. :?

If you do an amp for the replacement speakers it should be fine right?

No need to re-wire your speakers just cut and connect.
In all reality all stereos are one complete circuit.
Front Speakers = 6/9
Rear Speakers = 6 1/2

best bet would be to replace the HU first. Then later on you can change the speakers.
Or, you could re-wire the new speakers straight to an amp, and then back to the factory HU. You'll have to buy an RCA converter. That would make the sound much better and still keep the factory HU
