I'm going to be using my Titan for plowing...not off roading. Driving through lots of snowy, icy roads.
Trying to decide if I need the OffRoad package for this or stick w/just the Basic 4X4.
The Rancho shocks---Don't need them
The skid Plates---Ditto
The Decal---Don't care.
The BF Rugged Trail Tires---I think the Wrangler's on the standard 4x4 are as good or better tires...tell me I'm wrong.
Switch on-demand electronic locking rear differential-----Really not sure ? Anyone finding this a big Plus ?

IMHO, the locker alone is worth the money for the off-road package.

The 2 things that matter and are tough to change are the e-locker and the lower rear.
I haven't had any need for the e-locker, but it sure is great to know it's there. It only engages in 4x4 low. :( There is a pretty easy way to bypass this with a relay and a few jumpers. It has been done and has good documentation.
The lower rear will be easier on the drivetrain.
That said, I say get don't get the offroad if you are sure don't want it. I like mine. It tows better and I like the look. I think it was a good value for 1200 dollars.
One more thing to consider in case you didn't know. Nissan manual states that no plow should be installed on this truck and it will give you problems with the warranty ('04 for sure. 05, ?)
Sorry, I can't find anything about plowing in the manual. I must have been mistaking it for the Chevy Avalanche :D
GoodLuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 05 manual says that you shouldn't use a plow, because it affect handling. It's on page 9-33. The manual also states that you should not change the radio station while driving. Nissan is a very cautious company.

I would think the lower gears of the Big Tow and/or the Off-road Pkg. would be required for plowing. Lockers seem like a good idea too. When you are in 4-LO, if a rear wheel slips you can just press a switch and the slip is gone.
And of course with Austin's mod you can have it in 2wd and 4HI too!

Yea That's the tread I was talking about. Good Stuff but gotta be careful not to destroy it. I have a feeling it is touchy when not in 4lo.
