: What was the fastest speeding ticket that you got?
Net4n6 12-16-2004, 11:28 AM I was cleaning out my gargage yesterday. I found an old speeding ticket that I got for 105 mph in Barstow on the way to Vegas from California. It was 10 yrs ago. Actually, the cop was very nice. He gave me the ticket and told me "Have a nice day". He could take my car or arrested me.
I am wondering what was your fastest violation ticket?
KYFHO 12-16-2004, 12:03 PM I got an 88 in a 45 in Garden Ridge Texas about 8 years ago.
firecracker 12-16-2004, 12:31 PM on July 5, 1992...I got one for 117 in a 55 8O . The funny thing was, as I told the trooper, "Man, I saw you and had already started slowing down :D ".
Needless to say, he was in a good mood and only gave me the speeding ticket. Then said to SLOW IT DOWN! I did. That was the last ticket I've gotten. Matured much since then!
KYFHO 12-16-2004, 03:33 PM Wow!!! What kind of vehicle were you driving?

But in my previous career (12 years ago), I gave one for 102 in a 40mph zone!! $302.00 bucks.Ouch.
KYFHO 12-16-2004, 05:02 PM I bet that poor engine was screaming!!!!

strick9 12-16-2004, 05:21 PM Chief Wiggum doesn't get speeding tickets!
Don't you guys have back roads where you can do this and not worry about it. LOL

Man,
I thought mine was bad. It was 105 in 55 or 65 mph. I don't remember exactly. It costed me around 570 bucks.
SMOKEDYA2 12-16-2004, 05:29 PM 85 in a 25 residential, then a goose walked out and hit that, man talk about ticket after ticket after ticket!

That was on a back road. LOL.....if anyone knows, it was Hwy 225 just north of Conway. GREAT CURVES & that little truck stuck like it was on rails!
since then, I've SLOWED WAY DOWN! Too much to live for now! :P
Caltitan 12-16-2004, 09:33 PM My old Mazda P/U '88. It would top out at 138 mph! 8O
Loved that truck! You're kidding right Firecracker? A Mazda pickup did 138 mph?
firecracker 12-16-2004, 10:10 PM You're kidding right Firecracker? A Mazda pickup did 138 mph?
No, really. I was running a buddy of mine in his iroc. His speedo was reading 138. Mine only went up to 115 and the needle was way past it.
SMOKEDYA2 12-16-2004, 10:28 PM what was that mazda pickup packin under the hood? a motor from a RX-8?
125+ in a 45mph zone on my bike. Spent roughly 6 hours in a holding cell, wife paid $220 bond, went to court - pleaded guilty - judge fined me $160 minus money paid for bond so I got $60 back. Bye Bye bike :(
firecracker 12-17-2004, 10:27 AM what was that mazda pickup packin under the hood? a motor from a RX-8?
Actually, back then it was a RX-7. But, no. just the original 4 banger that it came with. I've never has another one that ran like that one. It seems though there's always one or two "oddballs" that the manufacturers put out.
Chief 12-17-2004, 11:38 AM Got one for 70 mph although he clocked me at 80 on the turnpike. Lucky as I was cruising at about 100 for most of the trip w/ 4 other vehicles. '87 Mitstubishi Cordia. Only 88 HP but man that thing could generate some major side G's and topped at about 130 comfortably!!! My future wife also chipped in for 1/2 the ticket (no wonder I married her :D ) That was 10 years ago and I don't cruise at 100 no more :(
About 20 years ago one of the local towns got new vascar and I recieved 2 tickets in one day, talk about a bummer!!!! I was afraid to tell the second cop I already got one ticket that day. It probably wouldn't have hurt thinking back on it.
Most interesting stop was when I went straight through an intersection while in a 'left turn only' lane. A fine woman pulled me over. When I told her my girlfriend was mad at me and I was trying to make up with her (pulled up on the side of her Honda) I had a feeling she would soften up and she did, sweet thing. Just gave me a warning.
My girlfriend on the other hand saw me get pulled over and just kept going. Probably laughing her *** off!!! (why did I marry her ? :D )

My wife got "pulled over" last year. As soon as the cop stop her, she told the cop "Sorry that I was driving too fast officer". The cop said "No, you didn't drive fast. You ran the red light". Some how she didn't get any ticket. She sweared to me that she didn't do any special "favor".
shift 12-23-2004, 11:23 AM 50 in a 15 in the pooring rain in my old 83 chevy silverdo, officer was nice enough to give me a speed too fast for conditions, a $96 dollar fine, which i ended up paying 80 for, its nothing like 117 in a four banger, but i could have gotten in some trouble.
Chief 12-23-2004, 12:06 PM It never hurts to be polite when stopped. Usually law enforcement is pretty formal even when they are being wise-guys, so it's not too tough.
I've gotten out of points a few times, reduced fines also. Never coulda happened if I pointed my anger their way. Besides, most of these guys are just doing their jobs, and a pretty good one at that. They have to put up with xxxHoles more oftern than not.
One of my old buds became a State Trooper. He said when he's on speed patrol it's kinda funny to see people who are doing 75 in a 65 zone hit the brakes since, the cops are usually looking for the big hitters and big fines, not the people who are loosely just keeping up with the traffic flow.
Seems I have a several year cycle, if I get nailed with points, I have to drive everywhere trying to observe all posted limits for 3 years. Not to say I drive like a nut, but did you ever try to follow all speed limits all the time? It could drive a person to madness and everyone rides right up on you.

OK_Titanic 12-23-2004, 04:35 PM Not a ticket, but short time back I was in a friend's Evo and he shot it up to 175 mph and was still accelerating when he let off the gas. Needless to say his car is far from stock.
Prior to that, a bud had '72 (I think) Cutlass that we got up to 168 in.
My personal tick was 98 in a 45 in my mustang. Highway patrol got me in an industrial zone. I was actually slowing down to turn onto a side road. Would have been pretty bad if he had got me earlier!

Man I have been 175 before but that was on a bike. Fastest in a car would be about 135 for me and I thought that was a scream. LOL

JetTech 12-23-2004, 06:23 PM You guys are never going to believe this but last night I had a dream/nightmare due to this thread. And yes I was cuffed and stuffed. I guess it's always possible for me as many times as my truck sees 100+.......
Can we not talk about this stuff anymore???
SMOKEDYA2 12-23-2004, 09:10 PM sounds like a good idea, im traveling in my speedy titan for the holidays. a case of ironic karma is not what i need for christmas :!:
Chief 12-23-2004, 09:29 PM Tonight I had to make and express trip on a newer highway that is built near me. It's a really nice place to occasionally peg it when you are in the mood.
I couldn't push past 90 on the straights due to some traffic, lot of gusty wind, and questionably damp spots. It's been pretty warm here, but experience says don't trust any wet spots if it's even cool this time of year.
I was also wishing it was a warm, calm and dry summer night, maybe 3 or 4 am :D

shift 12-28-2004, 07:45 PM I-95 is always a good road for the occasional blast, not tooo many cops but they hide in places. im fortunate enuff to live close to a drag strip or if i feel fast and furious there is a long straight road that leads to an electrical thing and cops are never on it, but i dont like to take the chance!
xsive11 12-29-2004, 03:35 PM 147 in a 65. got pulled over by 2 cops on the interstate. one in front of me and one way behind. cant outrun that radio i guess!

147!!!!!! I can't even imagine it. Radios are a bi**!
NateL 12-29-2004, 06:22 PM I've been pulled over more times than I care to remember, but I've only actually gotten 1 speeding ticket(keep my drivers license under my military ID and make sure the cop sees it) I was in my old Toyota pickup and the cop actually got me on the off ramp doing 102 as I was slowing down. The cop was pretty cool about it and wrote the ticket for 82, he said he would have had to take me in for 102. I actually don't speed that often anymore, I'll do a full throttle romp every once in awhile, but I usually keep it to about 5 over or so.
120HPHarley 01-06-2005, 10:15 PM 101 over. 136 in a 35. lost the licence on the spot and went to jail. cop caught up to me cause I stopped to wait for my brother to catch up. Didn't even know I passed a cop. Had to sell the motorcycle cause my insurance went sky high. I was only 17 at the time. Still have the ticket in a frame.
majon1 01-07-2005, 12:59 AM  After I got out of jail...vowed I wouldn't go back again. And I didn't...for speding, anyway!
Hey, Harley...welcome! Post somethin' in the new guy's place and let us know alittle more . What are ya' drivin' now???

LDOTITAN 01-14-2005, 11:42 AM 96 in a 55 (and accelerating). I used to think that was pretty impressive, but now I see it's kind of weak. The hit to my wallet wasn't weak!
FlatBlack 01-14-2005, 11:59 AM Didn't get a ticket when I should have. 1990 on Hwy 305 between Austin and Battle Mountain in Nev. on my way home from Ft. Cambell Kentuky. In my 1987 D-50 sport with the hot 2.6l 4 cyl. 134 BALLS OUT AND STILL GAINING. The cop pulled me over just to see what I had under the hood. He still couldn't believe it. That was a GO TO JAIL FREE card any place else on earth. Wow 14 yrs ago, still seems like the other day. I was 21.......now those were the days 8) 8)
