Ok,I finally got the Fox's in and would'nt you know it, no wrenches in the box?? :o

Not sure if this was overlooked during packaging or if they are not included in the $950 price. Either way, they cannot be adjusted without the tool.

I have tried to contact Greg (PRG) by phone and have not had any luck. If anyone has contact with him please tell him I need to know where I can get one of these wrenches. Or, let me know where I can go to get one on my own.

Thanks in advance...

i saw a picture somewhere on this site where someone broke the tips off of couple screwdrivers to do the same thing as a spanner wrench.
just a thought
later
ps, i usually don't condone breaking tools unless they have a lifetime warranty

I took my truck over to Greg's house and he put them on for me. I don't think they come with a tool as he said if I wanted to adjust them, I should grind down the end of a Phillips head screwdriver. You start with a standard, medium sized one and just grind the tip off until it fits in there nice and tight.

BTW, where do you adjust them at? Greg told me, but I forgot. Yeah, I know. Dumb. I figure if I ever wanted to make adjustments, I'd just give him a ring or PM him.

They are adjustable at the top. Take the pressure off the top threaded washer and then adjust the bottom one to the height you need.

I found a place to buy a spanner wrench here: http://www.rjays.com/Pete_Jakes/PJ_Shocks-01.htm

I ground down the tip of an old screwdriver and the rear end of a center punch.

Ok, I talked with Greg and it looks like the screw driver with some WD-40 will fix the adjustment issue on the coilovers.

PRG's phone is down right now due to some recent storms so if anyone needs to contact Greg I would use his e-mail.

I'm a cranky old curmudgeon tonight, so I'll say it:
That ain't the right tool!
You'll tear up that pretty blue anodizing using a screwdriver.
More importantly, you are missing a golden opportunity to _buy a new tool_!!

You might not be able to see it in the picture, but that is definitely the right tool. Both the screwdriver and centerpunch OD's were larger than the ID of the holes on the spring perches. The tip of the screwdriver has been cut off, and both the screwdriver and centerpunch shafts have been turned down to the exact OD needed to fit in the hole. So, there's no slipping, no mucking up either the hole or the anodized coating. And... no need to buy a new tool if you're able to make what you need from old tools.

I had a tool like this in mind, that supports the diamater of the ring nut:

It was the closest example I could find; the purpose-made ones aren't adjustable like this one, and have a round pin to engage the hole. They allow the ring to be turned easily and it's impossible to wallow out or otherwise damage the holes.

Thanks for the suggestion. I feel the same way about tools as well, you never can have too many!

Yes, its been 2 days and our phones are still down. And the coil-overs DO NOT come with a spanner or pin wrench. Even if they did, you could not use it to set ride height while on the truck, there is just no room to swing the tool. The holes are 5/16 and grinding the tip off a screwdrive works perfectly and allows for 1/4 turn of the adjuster while on the truck. That spanner wrench in the pic will just damage the holes, that wrench is for stepped-ring adjusters.

I have to say, using the screw driver did work great! I made the adjustments while the coilovers were still on the truck without too much trouble.

They ride extremely well and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to raise the front end higher than 2.5" but do not want to install a 6" lift. For those of you that have an older house with shorter garage clearance this will allow you to get the truck inside without scraping the top of the cab.

Thanks for the help Greg!

Hey congratulations on your sweet set up... Im also looking for a larger lift without going 6"+ on lifts, I currently have a 2" PRG kit on my 4x4 and would like to change it for a coilover get a much better ride and get at least 3" of lift maybe 3.5"...

Got a few questions on your set up...

1. How high " do you have your coilovers tuned to? 2. Do you have a 4x2 or a 4x4?
3. do you have any problems with the upper aarm hitting the coilbucket?
4. How is the ride on and offroad?

THX in advance...

Do you have a 4x2 or a 4x4? How high have you adjusted the coilovers without issues?

I have a 4x4 CC LE.

I have mine adjusted about 3.25". I just ordered a set of his upper arms which allow an additional 4" of suspension travel. In order to get maximum height out of the Fox's you will need to get the new arms. Once I am done, I will have PRG's Coilovers/Upper arms (front) Deaver pack/Bilstein shocks (rear). With this setup I can still get the truck in the garage while gaining enough height to handle some serious off-road driving.

How is the ride with that height adjusted? Any problem with the aarm hitting the coilover bucket yet?

I can handle maybe getting some new coilovers but would have to save and take alot more time to get the aarms for the complete kit...

Maybe things have improved, but everything I've read from PRG, stated 2" more travel with just the uppers, (for ~9" total), and if the lower is added later, when available, an additional 4" on top of the 9", so 13" w/both.

Anything higher than 2.5" and the upper arms will hit the bucket quite often. Save your money and do it right by getting both the coilovers and the arms.

But, with the upper a-arms you can get another inch of lift, (and 2" more of travel).
