Have 18" tires on my new truck - I know - should've got the 17" and wondering if there is any all-terrain/off-road tires that will work?

Have had the BF Goodrich All-Terrain/KO's before and really like 'em.

Will I have to make a lift or level to make these type tires work?

Just have the stock setup now - thanks!

The BFG Allterrain T/A KO do come in a 285/65 18" which which is almost exaclty the same diameter as the 265/70 18" tires that came on your truck Stock. That is the only size those tires come in to fit an 18" wheel.

They are going to be slightly wider, about 3/4" than the tires that came on your truck but you will have no clearance issues.

what size do you want to go with?
is your ride 4x4 or 4x2?
and are you at the stock height already?

Get the leveling kit from PRG here: http://prerunners.com/store/store.htm

Stick with the Mud terrain BFG's they last longer and look MUCH better than the All-terrain. Keep in mind that you will most likely have to shave the wheel well (a little) just behind the front tires. Thankfully they do not rub on the front bumper so you should be fine in the front. Here is a photo of what they look like on the truck:

NEGATIVE! I've had countless sets of BFG AT and MT tires. While both last quite long compared to other tires, the AT wins hands down in longivity! The AT is also IMPOSSIBLE to beat in the snow and wet due to its siping.

I'm not just talking about longivity Bro...

I have had both sets as well and FOR ME the MT's are a better choice for those of us who take going offroad seriously. There is no way I would even attemp to do some of the things I do without the MT's. Greg at PRG runs the same setup... enough said.

Thanks fella's!!

I'm at stock height right now - wanted to add tires first and then leveling kit.

I have the 4x4 without off-road pkg. What leveling kit should I get again? Will just the front do the job of evening things up a bit?

Yes, the kit Greg (PRG) sells will level the truck. I have an LE 4x4 as well, so I know his setup will work nicely.

I would install the leveling kit before you mount the tires so that you will be able to see if you need to shave the wheel well.

Greg will be out of town over the weekend. He will be back on Monday so I would just give him a call.

Have you taken your truck off road? any hard rubbing when the suspension flexes? Your set up looks good and it might also look good on my 4x4 CC with the PRG front and rear...

He no longer runs the MT's. He recently switched to AT's.

Mud terrain tires have thier place, but I don't think they belong on a daily driver. They ride horrible, they sound horrible, they wear horrible, and traction on wet pavement is horrible. My Titan will have mud terrains, but they will stay in the garage, bed, or on the trailer until I need them.

I have another truck that I only use off-road, and I keep a set of all-terrrains on it %60 of the time, I only put the swampers on when I need to.

I bet less than %1 of Titan owners will ever be in a situation where they need true off road tires, and for those of you out there that think my estimate is low, let's see some pictures.

I agree with you. I plan to get AT's since 99% of the time, my Titan is a commuter. Hill climbing can benefit from lifts for better approach and departure angles as well as big aggressive tires.

But even stock the Titans will suprise you once you try them off-road. Below is a link to a shot of mine with pretty worn BFG Rugged Trails that come with the OR pkg. And my Father-in-law was doing the same hills I was with his '04 Dodge Ram Quad Cab Hemi 4x4, with 20" wheels and street tires! [His has true limitted slip and mine the locker].

I've been very impressed with how well the Titan does off road, I don't like taking it offroad because of it's size(and the wife gets pissed), but I'm comfortable hitting the trails or mud to recover a buddy with it if I have to. I've even used it a couple of times to unstick my other truck that only sees off-road use.

I'd love to take the drivetrain out of the Titan(with a bigger rear axle of course) and put it in something about the size of an of a Jeep Cherokee, or old 4-runner. Most of the trails I frequent are 4-wheeler trails, or jeep sized trails at best and a full size truck with a straight body and a good paint job just doesn't fare well on them. My Scout barely fits on them, but I don't mind the dented fenders and scratches down the side on it.

Heh, I might have to keep an eye out for a wrecked Titan to pull the drivetrain out of and put into a Scout. People put small black chebbbys in them(blasmphemy) atleast International put Nissan motors in some of them at the factory, so I wouldn't be committing that big of a crime.

I did not have too much trouble with rubbing since I shaved the inner wheel well (behind the front tires). I just installed PRG's Fox coilover system and it rides even better now. The height is now adjustable up to 4" which is more than enough for 35's.

As for all this talk about BFG's MT tires... noisy?? rough riding?? No traction on wet roads???

This is non-sense. I have had no trouble with traction on wet roads, tire noise is very minimal at 40psi (on-road) and yes, I travel quite often. I would not hesitate to purchase another set tomorrow if I had a second vehicle to put them on. JMO

Do I keep the 18" wheels or go for some 17" if I can sell mine and purchase others?

What are advantages/disadvantages to the 18" vs. 17" other than tires easier to find?

Looking to add a leveling kit in the near future and some BFG's All-Terrain K/O's

thanks guys!

You have to consider the types of driving encoutered in everyday driving, unless you can afford two sets of tire and rims. Many people do that for the hunting season. Instead of two sets I just do with the AT's. But everyone has differnt prefrences.
