Do you need a higher jack? I don't think the stock jack is high enough. What's about spare? I currently have my SE stock as spare. what do you use? Can I run my stock wheel and tire temporary if I have flat with 35"?

Well you will need a high lift jack and as for the spare I orderd 5 wheels and 5 new tires and I got a rat cage for the spare tire. I planned my lift out I get my lift done on mmonday with my new wheels and tires put on So if i get a flat im ready for it. Peace Out.....

He hit it right on the head above!

Yes you'll need a higher jack.
Need to get another fullsize spare (same size and running tires)
And, no. It changes the gear ratios and can cause MAJOR damage to the differential.

The full size spare with 35" won't fit in the bottom of the bed. Is that correct? Do I need a rat cage if I want a full size spare?

do ya think running the stock 285-70-17 spare with the running tire being 315-70-17 would kill the rear end on like a 10-15 mile drive?
or will i just be better off plugin the flat tire on the road?

Thanks for reminding me to get a plug-kit Tom......can you remind me tomorrow too!!!!...with a small portable compressor I'd rather just plug the tire and re-fill it and not take a chance of further damage!!!

Are you using a 120 vac compressor with your inverter or a 12 vdc one?
I'm thinking of a 12 vdc one. :D

i use the portable QuickAir 3 in a bag kit. it takes about 2min per titre from 15psi to 40. for a 35" tire shold take another minute. if you used something other than a quality air setup it would take forever or burnup.

You will not need a highlift jack, just bring a couple peices of 2x4 to use under your jack. The axle will only be a couple inches taller than stock and the front x-member a few inches taller than stock (yes you can lift it from these points). there is no lsd in our trucks(so the rear diff could handle differnt tire sizes, at least to get you home) but im not sure what the VDC would do. It may work jsut fine since there isnt that much difference between the stock tires and a 35.
