: Interior Removal and Dynamat Installation - 30 PICS!
twizted 10-08-2005, 05:14 PM I took the entire interior out of the truck in about 5 hours last night. (By myself using HAND TOOLS lol!) So far this afternoon I have shoved some generic Dynamat all over the floor and I am getting ready to do the back wall and the doors next.s

Darth_Titan 10-08-2005, 05:36 PM Nossir. . . not me. . . couldn't do it. You have my utmost admiration. :notworthy:
I would love to one day have my cab 'matted, but I would have to pay someone else to gut my baby like that.
TITANIK-RR 10-08-2005, 05:44 PM sick!...can you post some more exterior shots of your truck? love those wheels. how is the ride qualtiy with low profile tires and 22s?
twizted 10-08-2005, 05:48 PM There are some more exterior pictures on this thread:
http://clubtitan.org/postt7471.html
The ride quality is pretty good. Just a little bit more road/tire noise and a little bit bumpier then stock. The stock tires are about 7" of sidewall and my 305-45-22's still have 5" of sidewall - not as low profile as it looks 8)
kytitan 10-08-2005, 06:29 PM Wow that looks like alot of work. 8O
NKTITAN711 10-08-2005, 06:35 PM I hear ya bro! That thing is gonna ride like a Mercedes by the time you're done with it! That looks like a LOT of work, but I'm SURE it will be worth it! Feel free to come to NC, and I'll pay you to do mine.
twizted 10-08-2005, 09:44 PM Yeah, it's a lot of work - but I have so much stereo equipment to put in that it seems like a total waste not to just go the extra mile and shove sound deadening material all over :)
Here are some updated pics - Going to mat the doors some more after the back wall - just wasn't sure how much I would have leftover.

Blue_Water_Rush 10-09-2005, 02:08 PM You are doing the right thing. It will make a tremendous difference in SQ. If you're investing more than $1500 in aftermarket sound and pushing more than 1000 watts, this is extra work well worth doing. Man, I like my modest sound, but I'm drooling looking at you guys matting your cabs for higher fidelity. GOTTA LUV IT. Rock on Twizted!!!
 :ipod: :fan2: :lovesick:
NKTITAN711 10-09-2005, 02:16 PM It's looking GREAT! I wish I could hear it when you're done!
BroncoAZ 10-09-2005, 07:16 PM Twizted,
Can you keep track of how much dampening material it takes for the entire truck? I'm going to do mine in December (when I have a week off) and need to know how much to order. What brand is that dampening? I've used dynamat in the past, but will probably use the e-dead this time.
Thanks,
Mitch
Goofus 10-10-2005, 08:19 AM Does this have much affect on road noise when your driving?
twizted 10-10-2005, 09:54 AM It should drop road, tire and exhaust noise considerably.
It looks like I will be able to do 50% of the doors, 100% of the floor and 100% of the rear with 60 sq ft of Dynamat.
On the TT forums someone was mentioning that you really should dynamat the entire door all the way to the window sill as well as the INSIDE of the door on the metal! They also stated that I should double mat the back wall. I would estimate needing 95-100 sq ft (1 full roll) in order to pull that off. If you wanted to do the ceiling too, you would need 130-140sq ft of mat!
BroncoAZ 10-10-2005, 11:25 AM I was figuring about 120 ft^2 for the whole interior. I was going to use the thicker edead on the floor and backwall, and the thinner product on the doors (both inner and outer skin) They sell it on ebay in 60 ft^2 rolls for a reasonable price. I have 30 ft^2 of dynamat left over from my last install that I was going to use on the roof.
Thanks,
Mitch
twizted 10-11-2005, 09:10 AM I've added more mat to the doors and inside the doors behind the speakers. I am picking up 25-30 sq ft more from my friend and removing the stupid factory wax paper door covers and redoing the doors. It makes no sense to put the mat on the factory paper crap. :?
