: Speaker Level Input problem.
Jlk5611 10-23-2005, 11:07 AM I have just built a custom sub box, installed 2 10" subs, and installed a 350 rms Alpine amp. After spending the better part of yesterday installing the system, the moment of truth was disappointing as usual for me...
The amp comes on, as do the subs. However, the only sound I am getting sounds like a pulsating signal and does not coincide with the music. I double checked the power cable, remote, speaker wires, and ground with no apparent problems.
This leads me to believe that my speaker level inputs are causing this problem.
Despite viewing many posts on the subject. I could not find the exact wiring diagram for the factory wires. I kept the factory head unit.
Someone please help.

Jlk5611 10-23-2005, 11:43 AM What does S/B stand for...its what I can make out of the second wire.
I understand B/Y, L/R, and L/O.
misery-tom 10-23-2005, 11:47 AM S/B is straight blue, or it might be sky blue lol
but you know the L means lavender right?

Jlk5611 10-25-2005, 03:03 PM I am absolutely freakin retarded...
I spliced into the wires on the harness that controls the HU face. I don't know what I was thinking. When I hooked everything up, the subs were pulsating...thump, thump, thump. They didn;t match the music and even thumped with the HU off. When I turned the volume up, the speakers went da, da, da, da real fast. Now it makes sense because I had the supply wires hooked up as my speaker level inputs.
I took it to Circuit City and the guy just laughed at me. He said it was one of the most retarded things he had seen done. I though so to. He fixed for free out of pity I guess.
WildeKustumz 10-25-2005, 05:34 PM your lucky I suppose... My wiring is all messed up in my 05 titan RF350.. It was funny cause I had t-line connecters in the wires the stereo shop was going to use. When he popped the deck out he was like WTF you had this all hooked already.. So I had to explain The outputs did not match most of the wiring diagrams. Sure the colors were there but they actually wrong coming out of the deck. The actual wires in the door speaker etc were correct and matched. Good luck with your boom.
heres the wiring diagram, just to make sure ur using the correct wires as the speaker level inputs
DO YOU HAVE THE WIRIRNG DIAGRAM FOR THE FULL Rockford Fosgate sound.
