I'm wanting to lower the rear an inch or 2. Does anyone make rear lowering shackles yet? I saw a post where someone modified the factory shackles, but I don't have the equipment/time for that.

http://www.prerunners.com has some, but they are kinda expensive ($160 shipped) and only give you 3/4" drop.

Wow $160 for only 3/4" I think i'd rather pay $22 for 1/2" via the leaf helpers. lol. Thanks alabama, this is what i was looking for. I ran across these a couple weeks ago, but couldn't find them again for the life of me.

Hmm, buy some Ford shackles and then modify them. That sounds like a better route to me. (may get more of a drop than 3/4") As longs as the 'modification' doesn't hinder the performance of the bushings. I'd like to know more about this one.

These were not meant as a "drop shackle". They are made to replace the ultra crappy stock shackles the tear apart if you do any serious offroading or heavy hualing. The lowered part is just a byproduct of maximzing the angle of the shackle. im looking into a budget priced shackle jsut to lower the rear, but our spring width is different from most trucks and the pivot is much narrower than all the other fullsize trucks.

Greg, don't you run into a problem with the shackle hitting the bed if you extend the shackle any more?

there is only a little room before the shcakle would hit the bed. a couple inches could be gained. i did a search and found the posts where people had modified their own and you can see a picture of what one of them did to prevent the shackle from hitting.
