Looking for a little help gentlemen.... Running 1 sub, mentioned above and am seeking a good amp to run it. Its a few years old but has plenty of stompin left !!! I get confused with the 4ohm / 8ohm....2 channel / 4 channel bit. I just want about 125rms running this bad boy.

I just finished the enclosure for under the driver side / back seat and am ready to move on... tired of trying the find the right amp. Your help is appreciated !!!

If thats a 10w1v2 8 ohm driver, it will handle 150 watts, and is a single voice coil, so if you use the 250/1 amp which is rated at 1.5 - 4 ohm, with an 8 ohm driver you'll get 125 watts, or you could bridge a 2 channel amp that has 60 watts per channel RMS and get 120 watts total.

If it is the 10w3v2 it will handle 300 watts, but to wire it for 8 ohm with the 250/1 amp, it would have to be a 4 ohm driver wired in series to achieve 8 ohm, and that would give you 250 watts, perfect for this driver. (these drivers are dual 2,4 or 6 ohm)

Thanks for input guys... At lunch today I went out and bought the Alpine MRP-M350. 200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms...I guess that somewhere near 100 watts RMS x 1 at 8 ohms??? We'll find out soon enough.

That's a nice amp. I'm going to be getting it at some point. My friend just installed one and it seems like a quality amp. I was surprised at how small it seemed, too.

I sure hope so... I've spent some good time and effort trying to bring this thing together... it's been 10 years since I've had a "quality" sound system in my ride...(wife and 2 kids do that to a guy !!) I'm trying to find a dual amp wiring kit other than what they sell @ Best Buy / Circuit City / Car Toys.... they range from $99 to $157 @ Best Buy. In the next month or so I'll add the 2nd amp to run the door and dash speakers.

For the $0.02 it's worth, this is probably the stuff I'm getting...

I already have some old subs I'm going to try. It's been a while since I've done any of this too, but it's been having a house that seems to sidetrack me. Good luck, and keep us posted!

DONE !!! Fry's put it in for me and it all fit like a glove. VERY happy with the tight, deep bass but notice my factory speakers trying to keep up sometime. Next step will be to get another amp to run the dash / door speakers...with only the highs going to them.
