i have an amp that can do this

4 x 100W Rms @ 4Ohm Stereo
4 x 150W Rms @ 2Ohm Stereo
2 x 400W Max @ 4Ohm Bridged

i was thinking about hooking up my 6x9's to one channel and unhooking my 6.5s from the amp, then getting a sub put on the second channel. What do you guys think of this? (im real tight on money)

and my other question was, could i put all 4 speakers into one channel? i know it wouldnt be getting quite as much power as before but is it doable?

You could wire the 6x9 and 6.5 in series, in which case your speakers would see 50 watts per channel based on what you posted. The other option is wiring the speakers in parallel in which case your speaker would see 200 watts per channel. If you wire in parallel there is a possibility that your amp will overheat and could cause permanent damage to it's self. Which type of amp are you using? If your amp is capable of this then run the 6x9 and the 6.5 off of two of the amp channels wired in parallel.

In general front sound stage (front speakers) is the important issues. The rear speakers are secondary and can in "some" cases interfere with imaging. If your amp can not handle being run in mixed parallel (front 2ohms rear 4ohms) I would probably run the front speakers and the sub off of the amp and run the 6x9's of the head unit power. Are you running a factory head unit?

I could not find information on the amps ability to run mixed impedance loads. With that bieng said, I would run the 6x9's off the head unit and the 6.5's off of the amp with the remaining 2 channels feeding the sub. With this setup there will be approximately 6 db less output with the 6x9's. The 6x9's should be able to reach around 110 db (there are other variable not considered in this calc). What type and quantity of sub and type of enclosure are you running?

i plan on running one ten inch sub probably 200-250 rms that i have not purchased yet. And i like the suggestion of just running one pair of speakers to the amp, however i would prefer my 6x9's to be hooked up because they are 50% better than my 6.5's.
This is what im eye'n:

It is a personal prefrence issue but remeber rear speakers can not produce the same range of frequencies and imaging as fronts. Either way I am sure it will sound good. That sub looks nice.
