I need help! I have the standard stock stereo set up with a Sirius add on, and I am getting this god awful amount of rattling and vibrating from the overhead bins...anyone got a suggestion/fix for this problem? I will be adding upgraded speakers and a tube unber the backseat next month and I imagine that the problem will only get more annoying. thanks

I would let the dealer handle it, assuming you're still under warranty.

I also have a rattle up there and i narrowed it down to the little compartment that's for garage door openers (it has a piece of velcro and also some plastic tabs that u customize for your particular shape of gd opener). Also, what do you have in those compartments?...That may be what's causing the rattle also.
Other than that my overhead console is rattle free.
Hope you get it narrowed down b/c rattles are VERY annoying.

How long are rattles and things like that covered with warranty?

I have absolutely nothing in the compartments which is the MOST annoying part of it all...I think it''s the same garage door opener compartment that is causing the rattle for me as well, i'll figure something out cause it's really drving me crazy! And then i'll call the dealership and see what they have to say about fixing rattles, should be an interesting conversation. :roll:

my dads old 2004 excurision had the same thing i think that its for the garage opener i THINK there are certin contoler that i holds.im not sure but that is my best geuss.

I would just like to have overhead storage. My XE did not come with it. Does anyone know of a good aftermarket item that would mount up on a 2006 XE?

The garage remote is attached button side down with the velcro. The H thing has leggo like things on the end, you break these off and put them on the door side. They are different lengths so you can find the right size that will press on the remote button when you push up on the door.

The LE comes with programmable garage door buttons. Saves me the trouble of using my garage door openers. :lol:

mine has the the homelink instead of that part in the bin also. But my homelink does not work my gate so it is useless.

As for the rattle, have the dealership find the rattles, if it is not that peice, on mine it was not since I do not have it, they replaced the whole console. just for info that whole console is 700.00 is what the dealership said. I have not signed for it yet, as they hace to order another piece, but I will see when those come in.
