: Magnaflow Single in/Dual out (#15849)
talkslow 01-16-2005, 12:41 PM Temp is hovering aroung freezing, so no truck washing today. Bored. Decided to load some pics of my Magnaflow exhaust. Not sure about performance gains (installs after the factory y-pipe), but I am loving the sound and really like the dual out the back look.

I am trying out a free Photobucket account, so if you get the big red X, I've run out of bandwidth.
JetTech 01-16-2005, 12:45 PM Looks like a sweet system. I had the duals exiting out from under my bumper like you do on my last truck and they did look good.
Just exactly what were you going to wash on your truck??? Dust.... Looks pretty darn clean to me...
It does look good! I really like the old fashion out the back look better then out the sides as most people are going with.
talkslow 01-16-2005, 12:52 PM  Those pics were taken a couple of weeks ago. I rarely go more than 2 weeks between washings and this cold snap is killing me. I guess it is winter, but the 60's and 70's we've had lately have spoiled me.

Have you thought about replacing that factory y-pipe with an after-market? I've seen pics of one cut open and it looks pretty restrictive.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I saved my y-pipe when I had my system replaced, and it is very restrictive. Not as bad as the y on my Tundra, but still pretty bad. For about $100-$150, a good shop can field-fab a custom y-pipe for you and install it. It only took my guy 1/2 hr to do mine.
I'd rather of just bought a nice mandrel-bent y-pipe from Gibson or Banks, but they wouldn't sell it apart from their precious cat-back systems. Flowmaster now has a system incl new y-pipe.....wonder if they'd sell it separate?? Them pipes look pretty bad-azz coming out the back on your rig!
talkslow 01-18-2005, 11:09 PM I sent Magnaflow an e-mail over the weekend about whether they would produce a y-pipe, but haven't heard back. Like you, I would rather have a nice mandrel bent stainless piece. I might contact Custom Tube Products out of Florida. They build a really nice stainless dual exhaust for the pre 2005 Frontiers.https://selene.safe-order.net/customtubeproducts/exhaust.htm I had one of their first batch on my 2003 Crew Cab. Pricey, but there were no other bolt on cat backs for the Fronty. I think they eventually have plans for a Titan system, but since tubing is their business, they might be able to fab a quality stainless piece upon request.
For now, I'm just enjoying the rumble and look.
LDOTITAN 01-18-2005, 11:52 PM How is the cabin noise while cruising? I've been in a Hemi 2500 with duals and I couldn't hear anything but the ringing in my ears from the drone. How is the Magnaflow?
talkslow 01-19-2005, 12:12 AM Well, the wife doesn't complain about it 8O , so that's worth something. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of drone at highway speeds. Once it hits 5th gear and the torque converter locks, I almost forget its there. Gas it and she comes to life. My cousin-in-law has a Hemi with Flowmaster 40 series and I had to raise my voice just idling out of the driveway. Then the drone was just aweful going down the road. The Magnaflow is much more mellow. Here is a link to their mpeg, but recordings don't do it justice: http://www.magnaflow.com/04sound/trucksound/titanl.htm
dunder23 01-19-2005, 01:09 AM Magnaflow comes with it's on X pipe built in. I built my own set of custom tips. Chrome plated on the outside and powder coated on the inside for durability. I plan on wiring up some red led's when it gets warmer out.
Later all.

I got Magnaflow installed on my truck the other day with 3" Magnaflow rolled tips (the tips are like double walled, like a filter or something in there, supposed to keep the truck from making a popping noise when I hit the pedal). God, the sound this system puts out is like music to my ears. Im thinking about chaing the y-pipe, but I'm afraid it might sound louder. I dont think I want it louder.
Seanman 10-11-2010, 08:14 PM Do you have a trailer hitch, and if so were there any issues with your exhaust out the back
