Hey there fellow titaneers. I am looking to replace my HU with a double din Navi/dvd/cd,etc HU. I have found this one by Eclipse
http://www.eclipse-web.com/avn5495-index.html
this one by Pioneer which doesn't play DVD's
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_3151_218219118,00.html
Do any of you know of any others besides these. I know there are alot of HU where the screen slides out and it is a single din size, but I prefer the double din. Also, do any of you have any experience with these two HU's or any others?
Thanks

I have the pioneer AVIC-D1 with a nice yet inexpensive dvd player in my console which looks slick
but a problem with the pioneer head unit is no matter what even with the parking break wire taken care of the navigation senses the movement so you cannot watch a DVD while driving

I also have the D1 and am experiencing that same problem. I was trying to figure out how to beat it and thought about disconnecting the speed pulse. I believe that is how the system senses the movement (I haved already grounded the parking brake wire). Pioneer says that having it disconnected will affect the accuracy, but I may try it anyway. If I do I will let you know how it works. Have you tried anything else?

Because you did not bypass the unit....you have to add a pin to the empty pin on the radio harness.... and ground it

I would wait for the AVIC-Z1 due out this year....

thanks for the reply, but im still a little bit confused. Can you explain it to me in a little more detail, that way I know what to tell the stereo shop to do. Does this pin have something to do with the parking brake cable?

no, if you look at the pioneer harness, there is 1 spot that is blank, if you put a pin in it 9all i did was take one of the wires from harness that i did not use and put it in that open slot. i can not remember if I grounded it though.

ok, let me make sure im understanding this correctly. The pioneer harness(the one from the radio) has an open spot in the connector. Insert a pin into that open spot, then connect it to the harness that is in the truck but take that wire (the one that connects to the formerly blank spot in the harness)to ground. Is there a wire from the radio to the blank spot in the harness and if there is what is this wire supposed to do. And how did you ever think to do this???
