Hey guys. I recently bought a 2008 Titan, and it would seem that the fluids where not done at 30000. I changed the front diff, rear diff, and transfer case. I talked to Nissan, and they said that they due a drain and fill for the trans at 30000. I want to do a full blown transmission flush. I work for a dealer with a high quality flush machine. everyones opinion on this matter would be helpful. Thank you.
If you follow the regular maintenance schedule, don't off-road or tow then the transmission fluid never has to be changed. Only if you off-road or tow is it necessary to replace the fluid every 30,000 miles. This is all per the owners manual.
Nissan has a bulletin out telling dealers to not do a powered flush of the transmission. Only the pumping action of the transmission itself is to be used to purge the old fluid.

Doing it yourself isn't that difficult and doesn't require any special tools. Probably the finest write-up on how to do it yourself can be found here: http://www.titantalk.com/forums/tita...ivetrain/79821. Be sure you read the thread, not just the first post.

I have the dealer do a spill and fill every 20k - cheap insurance and peace of mind.
Keeping this interval, I'll never have to do a complete flush - and I've heard horror stories of machines that introduce additional pressure into the trans and lines - more so on other vehicles, but still.
Stick to the Nissan fluid and just do a spill and fill.
Dealers in my area do it for $100 is I remember correctly.

For more info, go to the JATCO (manufacturer of our trans) web site. According to them, the fluid is good for the life of the trans if you don't tow. I do tow 5000 lbs. a lot and did a cooler hose type flush at 65,000 and a spill and fill at 100,000. Both times I had the fluid analyzed and the report came back that the fluid was still like new. My reports are posted here somewhere. I did use the Nissan fluid both times. Not planning another change till 160,000 miles even though I still tow a lot, perhaps 25% of the time.
