what is SSV on the stereo

when i have the windows down and i'm really punching it, i could tell that the stereo gets louder and when i slow down, and/or close the windows the volume gets back down to normal. when i was fittling around with my stereo i noticed SSV or SSR, i could set it on "off" "low" "mid" and "high". is that what i'm getting?

It's speed sensitive volume. I turned mine off, it was driving me nuts.

It changes the volume of the stereo depending on the speed of the vehicle. (I get alot of people calling saying they have a bad radio because of this.!!)

I also leave my SSV off as my hearing is too sensitive to the volume changes.

I have mine set on high, just cause I think that is a pretty cool feature, and I may as well use it.

I like this feature because when I stop or slow down for in town driving, I don't have to reach over and turn the volume down. I leave mine set on high.

i'mgoing to leave mine off. it pretty cool that the volume would go up and down on it's own depending on the speed and noise. but it kinda got annoying after so i was wondering if i was stuck with it staying like that. fortunatly not. that's what the ssv is for. thanks alot.
