Water dripping from side trim after a rain?

OK, here's an odd one that I don't think I've ever read about in my many years here.

After a good hard rain, if my truck has been sitting in my driveway which is slanted uphill, when I open the passenger rear door, a pretty good amount of water comes dripping out of the side trim. When I say a pretty good amount I mean it leaves a puddle. Now of course I already know about the door drain holes and clogs, and I originally thought maybe it was from there but it is not - the drain holes are clear and run freely, and I can pull the weatherstrip while it's dripping from the side trim and there's nothing there at the drain holes. The water is clearly coming from the side trim.

Any thoughts? I don't know what's behind that side trim, so I'm really kind of puzzled by this.
