DISCLAIMER: AJUSA is NOT responsible for any damages cause by your install. This is a Pretty easy install using the instructions followed by BULLYDOG and my useful knowledge on installing parts. IF you feel uncomfortable with this install bring a friend or hire someone to do it.
OK, on with the install...
You CAN install this unit without the RAM Mount and use the supplied suction cup / windshield mount it comes with. Installation is the same but you do not need the 5' HDMI cord. But the COOL factor is with the Ram Mount. Also out of sight and out of mind. One thing less to worry about when you leave your truck from prying eyes.
Follow the Bullydog Instructions it comes with, UPDATE if needed and you'll be good to go on to the next steps:
Tools Used:
Small Flat head to remove the trim surrounding the Driver Side handle
10mm Socket and Rachet to remove the Oh Sh*t Handle
Assorted small Allen Wrenches
Test Light
My Install time: 30 Minutes. Your time may vary.
Installation Difficulty?: If you can install our AIRAID #520-284 MXP Intake System or AirAid #521-284 MXP Intake System this should be a walk in the park.
Programming the Unit?: Just YES or NO questions, You can increase you RPM, Speed Limits etc. But i didn't mess around with it. Until you figure it out, just use the basic settings.
I used, Peformance, removed the WOT and 2* degree timing advanced.
You can try other settings like EXTREME setting and that's good for a Whoppin' 25+HP, All i can say... BUTT DYNO APPROVED!!!
Right out of the package:
Assembled:
Once you remove your mirror, mount the base of the RAM mount on to glass, use an allen wrench to put on snugly, not too tight.
5' HDMI Cable kit with Power Cord, You will not need to use the power cord or butt connector.
Instructions on inside of advertisement:
Once you have your BullyDog / Ram Mount on, you can re-mount the mirror in reverse order. Pull down slightly on the headliner and run the BullyDog 5' HDMI extension. I have a auto dimming mirror so it came with the wire cover, re-install that as well if you have it.
Remove the Driver side handle with a 10mm socket, pull the liner/weather stripping from the door and pull aside the plastic pillar moulding. NOTE: Some trucks come with the Side Air bags so you need to run this between the A-Pillar and the air bags so if they deploy the HDMI cable does not interfere with it. Connect the supplied cable of the BullyDog into the extension cable and run it towards the OBDII Port, Plug in OBDII Adapter Plug into the Port and attach the HDMI Main WireHarness from the BDGT. The OBDII adapter has a switch to power up your unit but you would have to turn if on/off all the time.
I choose to use, The GT/Watch Power Wire. It connects into the OBDII adapter and you run that wire down and behind the A/C unit / Center Console. I used a wire coat hanger to push it thru the backside from the driver to passenger side, Once you push the wire out string it along towards the passenger fuse box compartment.
I had a Test light and choose the RADIO fuse that is controlled by the Key. Pull the fuse with the factory fuse puller, insert the wire and push back the fuse. It's tedious but easy to do and now the BDGT now turns on with the key instead of the switch on the OBDII adapter.
Ok, Easy Tiger! ... Don't get excited you're almost there...
Retrace your steps, i.e. wiring, check connections & power. Re-install your panels, handle etc. fix your Rear View Mirror adjust your BullyDog using the RAM mounting handle and then.... look at yourself in the mirror and say...
"DAMN, I'm a Bad Mama Jamma!"
"Watch out... (fill in the blanks) FORD, CHEVY, Toyota, etc. I'll see all of you in my Mirror when i floor this Monster!!"
"Thanks AJUSA I appreciate this post because i didn't know how easy this is to install something like this, My wallet will thank me for the gas i will save, while I still have 25+ on tap!"
"Did i forget and leave the Iron on this morning?"
Read over your instruction sheet or follow the instructions directly from the tuner itself.
Cool Graphs like this will appear, you can also see the intake temps, coolant, trans, etc. You can also set up a driving coach.
Also fits with our CoverCraft Sunshield that we sell for $47.99, BTW, haven't yet found a sweet spot to put the BDGT either under or towards the driver. Either way, it's easy to move and adjust.
I recently came from a BullyDog PowerPup and it uses the same settings so HP improvement to me was the same. The Advantage is, COOL displays, driving coach, 4* timing advance and the ability to over see what the vehicle is doing. User reviews may vary. I seen an improvement with WOT removed, power is increase in any part of the power band, Fuel CAN increase 2-3 MPG (depends on how you drive), This item will pay for itself over time. If you already ordered a BDGT from us, you can PM us with your previous ORDER ID # and we can add the RAM Mount & 5' HDMI cable using the same info.
If you have any questions, please feel free to let us know. Or go directly to the link provided, PM us the NEW Order ID, state to use you want the RAM Mount & Cable and we will take it from there. There are plenty of these BDGT in stock so please support us as we continue to support TitanTalk Members.
Thanks for stopping by!!!
