What if you had a subwoofer, which was better than the stock one, just lying around so you decided to replace your stock sub with this better one. Only issue is the new one is single voice coil as opposed to the dual voice coil stock sub. New sub is 4 ohms too. How would it need to be wired? Would both pos wires connect to the pos terminal and both neg wires connect to the neg terminal or would two of the wires just not be used? If so, which two would not be used? Thanks.
I don't have the Rockford System in my Titan so unsure what the amp is sending to the subs but I've hooked up enough different systems that I still rely on the experts as I hate blowing up amps:
The stock amp uses a 4 ohm load for the sub, unlike the rest of the spkr. system which is 2 ohm. In order to run a SVC 4 ohm sub from the RF amp, you need to bridge the amp, since there are 2 channels for the stock DVC sub, each powering a separate coil. There are 4 wires (black 1-, white 1+, brown 2- & brown/white 2+). You need to use the + from channel 1 (white) and the - from channel 2 (brown). This should work, and the total rms with the combined channels is 75 watts.
