After a blow out my lady had on the highway, I had an opportunity to upgrade, so I got a good deal on some 2016 pro-4x rims and tires. Custom spacers are in my near future since the offset is different between the 2 generations and the studs are 14x1.5 on the 2016 and 12x1.25 on my 2008. Has anyone else tried this out?
Well you definitely need the OEM lugs to mount the wheels.. make sure you guys get those if you buy a set...I'm about to pull the trigger on some spacers with 14x1.5 studs for a Silverado... The center bore on the spacers are the same as the one on Titans, bolt pattern is the same...My only problem is that the holes for the 12mm studs off the Titan will be in a hole bored for a 14mm stud... they have a bulge seat in the spacers so I'm wondering if the 12mm bulge on the lugs will snug on them tight enough.
If anyone can tell me the bulge seat doesn't matter....say if I wanted to buy rims for a Silverado...I should be able to take those rims and put them on a Titan no problem right?? Even though the studs are 14mm on the Silverado and 12mm on the Titan..
Success! Just got back from a test drive on the new rims and tires, so far so good.
Here is what you need:
-2016+ Titan XD wheels (With tires $600-$1300)
-OEM lugs nuts for 2016+ wheels (Try and get these from the guy you buy the wheels from, they most likely will not use these on their new wheels. They are expensive from the dealer.)
-1.5" 6x5.5 to 6x5.5 wheel spacers with 14x1.5 studs $90(Get the ones for Silverado's, and similar GM models.)
-24 12x1.25 open ended bulge seat lug nuts $20( The spacers come with lugs, but are useless for the studs on your truck, .)
I purchased a warranty on the tires I bought off of Facebook (lol) from the local Americas Tire for $105, the guy said the tires looked brand new and explained they will cover them for punctures, blow outs, and free tire rotations, with these tires costing $260 brand new I thought it was a no brainer.
$1055 total for spacers, wheels, tires, warranty and all.
Since I was considering buying a set of Goodyears at Sears for $965, to put on my boring old rims...I'm pretty happy :big_grin::big_grin:
Ill put pics up soon. Night pics don't do it justice.
Looks good! I was thinking of scoring some XD takeoffs for my winter tires but only found the small rims (I've got a Pro-4X). Good to see how easy it is (assuming you score the wheels cheap enough).
Hello guys,
Me too i bought mags which were on 2016 Nissan Titan that i tried to install them on my 2012 Nissan Titan.
So here is the problems which I've faced,
1- need spacer and i bought spacer from Amazon, so far is good.
2- the biggest problem which I've faced this time is mags on 2016 they having mag bolt which M14x1.5 with shank diameter 19.05mm, compared to M12x1.50 with Shank diameter 17.272mm.
So here there is 1.77mm gab. It means all the mag will never come into the center.
I really thing about how to install these mags on my car.
