Ok I went to IPT and bought their tranny cooler that they put on Qships S/C truck last week. The kit is complete and contains most everything you might need for other trucks but for ours you only need a few items.
First IMO you will need to go get about 2ft of 5/16th tranny hose the hose with the kit is larger than I’d like it to be due to my previous experience with Nissan hoses popping off. You notice in the pics I have all new clamps on my tranny lines.
From the kit you will use the cooler, 4 mounting brackets, washers, nuts, bolts, foam, clamps and believe it or not 3” of the hose supplied split to use as bumper.
Here are the pics enjoy and if you have questions just post up.
Step1: remove the grill and all grill over lays. Step2: make brackets to hold tranny cooler and test fit Step3: mount cooler Step4: cut new 5/16th hose to fit Step5: fill new tranny cooler Step6: remove stock tranny line Step7: attach new 5/16 hose to right end of cooler Step8: attach stock hose to left end of cooler Step9: start truck and check for leaks and top off tranny Step10: install grill and drive
man i have the worst damn luck, i get this done tonight and turn my truck on and now my damn a/c doesnt work, how in the hell could mouting a tranny cooler interfere with the a/c working?? all the fuses for hvac and a/c compressor are good, any other fuses i should check??
Maybe a harness was left unplugged. One of the AC lines has what I think is a pressure sensor on it and it's right there where we are mounting our coolers. I almost forgot to plug mine back in. You don't have to unplug it to do the job by any means but it doesn't hurt to unplug it so you don't bump it. So get a flash light and look next to the cooler at the AC line and you can see a sensor on it. If it does not have a harness going to it.......
think it is the condensor fan it isnt turning on, hopefully t is covered under warranty i didnt mess with any of the a/c wiring so dont know why it suddenly stopped, didnt even touch or move it..
Dude that is some luck...I was thinking mine was bad. Maybe your dealer is open on Saturday. Otherwise check all plugs and harnesses and go back over what you think you might have touched and go wiggle a few of them. Cipher give you any codes?
dealership fixed a "shorted wire" today and charged me 212.00 for 30 mins of labor.. my truck was physically there for 3 hrs but the tech was working on 3 cars at the same time and of course mine was last.. i hate how they buttrape you for something that shouldnt have been more than 35.00, i even told him where to start looking not like he had to trouble shoot, lol
ohh well not like my week could get any worse than what it has already..
here's a breakdown of all the money i've spent this week, lol
1) 520.00 to ipt for worthless 3400 stall converter that won't fit my truck
2) 240.00 to aamco to put my truck back together after wasting time on the torque converter issue
3) 212.00 to nissan dealership to fix a/c shorted wire..
and to top it all off my desktop pc's processor took a dump, so there's another 1,200 i'll be spending to replace it with a quad core intel processor
Now thats a bad week! I would call Nissan if you have time and file a complaint and demand for reimbursment. I really dread the dealership visits. Thats why i just fix stuff myself. What was IPT's final say? They screwerd up 2 or 3 times have they even offered you anything to make up for it?
think they are going to make 1 last effort at locating the original, and if they cant find it, im going to recommend them buy me a oem converter and mod it or request a full refund PLUS a oem converter, so in thier intrest it would be better off for them to just buy me a converter and mod it

I agree. They should ship you some of your favorite choice of oil too. It sucks cause it could be a good company with just a couple boneheads in shipping and recieving.
yea everything is fixed now.. shortly after i got my truck working again the tranny went out 2 days later.. yea i had a very very bad month, lol
glad that is all behind me now..
Can anyone offer an opinion on if the PML Transmission Pan or the additional cooler is a better mod? I'm not sure I want to diddle around with transmission fluid lines but I think I can change out the pan.
I have a dumb question with out going out and really looking. Does the titan already come with a tranny cooler if you have the big tow package I never paid any attention, also what did the kit cost?
The Titan has an internal tranny cooler in the radiator, and also a thin external cooler in front of the radiator. It is hard to see because its sandwiched between the rad, and AC condensor. All titans have both regardless of Big Tow or not.
It looks lik ethe one from performance parts is the exact same as the one from IPT. It shows to have all the bracket and everything with it, just like IPT's cooler kit.
I've been meaning to see if I could find it cheaper, but I think you just did the leg work for me. I may have to order on ethe next time I get some spare change.
