Between the two door hinges is an arm that acts as a detent for the door, to hold it open. The one on the driver's door of my King Cab has broken and will not hold the door open. How do I fix this and what parts do I need? Your help is much appreciated.
You can get it from Courtesy Parts (or your local dealer). It is called a "door stopper link", or a "check link". The SKU is 80430-A60001. The cost from Courtesy is $12.21.
scr38, I went on the Courtesy Parts site and the part you identified is indicated as RH -- does this mean Right Hand, and if so, I don't see one for LH -- or maybe this part works on both sides?
You can order the door hinge parts online. There's this online auto store called 1A Auto that sells a complete set. It includes 2 Pins, 4 Bushings, & 2 Lock Nuts. Product code is: 1ADMX00140.
scr38, I installed the part on Sunday. It was a cinch. You are correct, one part fits both sides, you just flip it over. It is marked accordingly. Thanks again.
